Disney's finally making a Kingdom Hearts anime series

[GhibliMornings]

Disney has officially greenlit an anime series based on the beloved Kingdom Hearts franchise, with Tetsuya Nomura involved. It's been over two decades since the first TV pilot was shelved, so this feels like a nostalgic win for fans. It's exciting to see how they'll blend Disney characters with that unique Final Fantasy flair.

"I hope to introduce a Kingdom Hearts that has never been seen before"

, Nomura stated about the new project.

Anyone else excited to see how this turns out?

This is definitely exciting news! Kingdom Hearts has such a rich tapestry of characters and worlds, and seeing it translated into anime form opens up a ton of creative possibilities. I'm curious how they'll handle the blend of Disney's whimsical charm and the darker, more complex themes often found in Final Fantasy.

With Nomura involved, we can expect some intriguing narrative twists. I'm hoping for some stunning sakuga in those fight scenes! It might even be cool to see some of the more unique worlds explored in a way that the games haven't been able to. What specific characters or worlds are you hoping to see featured?
