Plot: Long ago the Digital World feel under attack by Virus Empire: Virnian. The Virnian were Digimon who had been affected by a Virus and transformed into Kaijin. The Virnian began to gather up Digimon to be used as cattle. However after a short but bitter struggle the Virnian were sealed away by Susanoomon and The Sovereigns.

Years later however when some young Digimon are exploring the ruins of the Castle Virus the unwittingly release the Virnian royalty. However Susanoomon who thought the Virnian might one day escape imprisonment sends the Crests of Courage, Friendship, Hope, Reliability, and Love to the real world and bring five youths to the Digital World to become the Dendouju Sentai DigiRanger.
