Dekaranger vs. Abaranger - Talkback

Strange, I thought I saw the same credits on Akemi's Zyuranger page(Which died out some years ago.)

I think that's where the confusion came from, that was a mistake on her site. She also listed Kusaka as playing Guardnoid Gash in Liveman when he only did the voice of Gash -- Naoki Oofuji played him in-suit. That was a nice site, but the information regarding Kusaka was a mistake (especially since it referred to him as "Hideaki Kusaki")...

I wonder what happened to Akemi..? She was a good source of info about the shows themselves, and she liked the same 80s sentai that I did, which is hard to find on English speaking boards...

I really need to get the Aba HKs. I'm really curious abour Abaranger now. :)

Yeah dude...pick those up. It has it's goofy scenes but there are some great and dramatic storylines and tons of kickass action.

Eh?

I like the scene with Jasmine going: "Aba! Aba! Abarenjaa!"

Oh, and the Jasmine, Umeko, and Ranru scenes.

And, the scene (end) where Abareblack is flirting with Swan and his wife/kid shows up.

I think Abaranger gets slightly misrepresented. It's always "Oh, it's the goofy series." Gaoranger, Hurricanger and Dekaranger were all also pretty damn goofy, and I don't think Abaranger is really any goofier than those -- for one, the humor is actually funny in Abaranger. I think Abaranger's is slightly more colorful, and the show could have easily fallen onto its ass, but they handle it properly and got a cast who was at least were able to handle humor and create more likable characters for you to follow for the year.

Abaranger's comedic, but it can also be pretty heartwarming. It's a fun show, not a mindless mess like a Kakuranger or Hurricanger. There's a few episodes that do slightly go too far in the comedic department (Bucky Bonds!), but they were filler episodes anyway and don't detract from the show's main goal. I think the goofiest thing in Abaranger was the Spanish speaking dinosaur, but that's really no goofier than Gao King playing soccer of Senpuujin playing with a kendama.

kendama?> Oh yeah who's this Akemi? have you been to carla torledo's site? its the brazilian tokusatsu site that lists the actors who play in sentai through 2000 not all just some. i printed this page out in 2002 and it was cool at the time let me get you the URL.
