It seems that 2011 is going to see DCU embroiled in a Flash-centric event. The question is will lightening strike for the Flash as it has for Green Lantern?

I am not doubt in the minority here but it is stuff like this that prevents me from ever getting in DC. I mean I never understood why I should care about Barry over Wally and Hal over well everyone else. I mean Barry died before I was even born and Kyle was the Green Lantern for most of my life. For me despite the honest love Johns has towards the Silver Age I feel he is missing the point. I mean the Silver Age was founded upon exploring new characters and concepts, if it wasn't we wouldn't even have Barry or Hal.

Alright I really don't want to drag this thread down so I'll end with this. Looks like we are in for some alternate reality fun. I hope we get an alternate Justice League out of this, since those are always interesting. I mean McDuffie's one from his recent JLA run was fascinating, I can't believe he made the Black/Brown Bomber canon.

Yea, I think DC needs to make their Big 3 more dominant in the DCU, right now they are all just doing their own things

That's been the case for a long time with D.C. As much as Didio loves to profess his love for the "Trinity", the people really running D.C (Jones and Morrison) are making it all about Batman, Green Lantern, and Flash whilst the remainder fall by the wayside.

I think it's a nice change. I mean, think about it. Superman and Wonder Woman have had their time to shine and all that. Yes, they are all still shinning. But the thing is that people seem to KNOW Superman like a book. 90% of those people are fans anyways.

Point is, characters like Superman and Wonder Woman comes from a rather "boring" origin in a way. We know all about Krypton and the Amazon since those stories were made into basics long time ago.

Green Lantern's story on the other hand, wasn't even made as big as it is now. GL and Flash are kinda like a new rubber band being stretched out to it's max like Superman and Wonder Woman were. Once they're stretched, they stay large, but they can't be stretched out any more, so of course DC has to find another rubber band to stretch. Batman however, is more like an ever lasting elastic rubber band.

The world of Batman is actually easy to expand, in a way. It's much easier than Superman because it's a story of good and evil. Mortal men, and reality. In a way, Batman is one of the closest characters to reality existence so it's easy to throw in something new.
