It's great to celebrate Jefferson Pierce's legacy, but I have to point out that while he did debut in 1977, there were actually other electricity-themed characters before him that often get overlooked. For instance, DC had characters like the original Lightning Man and even the Metal Men, which might not fit the traditional superhero mold but paved the way for what Black Lightning brought to the table in terms of representation and storytelling. It's a sign of how these characters evolve, but sometimes the chronology gets a bit simplified.
