David Yost Interview - The After Effects

When The Fruit Of Life Corrupts Men
Okay so this is regarding David Yost coming out about his unfair treatment that caused him to leave Power Rangers towards the end of Zeo

Since the interview, tabloids have been eating it up and blowing it completely out of proportion

My question is since the interview is out, do you feel like this will have an adverse reaction on people's views on the new Power Ranger series?

In the long run. No. It is a pretty shitty thing to happen, and I perversely wish it'd have some effect. But it won't.

Why? I'm guessing most of Saban's target audience doesn't even give a crap what happened. And those that do can hope things have changed in recent years.

Honestly, I think it'll have more of a positive effect. Look at all the attention it's bringing. The fact that there's a new Power Rangers series can ride on the coattails. And most people will forget everything else and only remember the Blue Ranger is gay.

You can never assume something about another person, despite how some people think how 'obvious' it may be. This isn't a bad thing for the interview to happen, but society seems to still have a negative view on these such things. People will jump and make assumptions like they always do. Hopefully cooler heads prevail and this will turn into positive attention.

Saban's target audience, the kids, weren't even alive in 1997.

Thus they don't care... And most parents of these kids won't care or even hear about this.

Are you talking about society having a negative view on harassment? What happened to David Yost was wrong. I'm glad he finally felt comfortable enough to say something about it.

Hopefully, this will help bring attention to the negative impacts of homophobia. Hopefully, those within the film/television industry who face similar situations now have some sort of role model. Hopefully, those involved in the harassment have realized the error of their ways and have since matured.
