This interview sums up Slott's character regressing fanboyism in a nutshell. It turns out he wanted Mac Gargan back as The Scorpion in "New Ways To Die" but had to kowtoe to Bendis who was working on "Dark Avengers" at the time. With the Dark Reign now over, Slott's getting the chance to take the symbiote off of Gargan and put him back in the Scorpion coustume for no other reason than "Mac Gargan should be The Scorpion"

Also, his idea of twisting the esscense of The Hobgoblin character is to reveal who the new Hobgoblin is in the very issue he appears...:sweat:

It was fresh, it took the symbiote off bland and boring Brock and got Gargan extra character development and dimension, I'd love to know what you think is "brilliant"

I don't hate Marvel, I hate the current regime at Marvel, which can always change over time. I don't know why you even felt the need to bring that up since all I was doing was pointing out Slott's fanboyism ruining certain progressive developments, I usually LIKE Slott's stuff, he's just a pretty crummy Spidey writer
