Wow, I don't believe I've ever been through so much re-planning of a story idea like Godaiger, first I was planning to make into a Super Robot style Mecha story and then I thought about writing it in the style of the Japanese Tokusatsu Superhero shows like Ultraman and Kamen Rider.
Finally, after watching a video of a live action Japanese version of Spiderman where he pilots a robot, I know it sounds weird but it's actually a fun show even Stan Lee himself liked it.
Then it hit me why not mix both? A superhero who pilots a robot, just like in the Super Sentai shows or Tatsunoko Studio's Time Bokan anime franchise more famously Yattaman.
The word Crossover in the title is due to the main character appearing alongside characters of different shows, comics and movies.
This isn't the final design of the robot as I plan to do a redesign. I drew the main character by mixing appearances from Tatsunoko heroes like Gatchaman, Hurricane Polymar and Casshan and his pose is inspired by the PS2 game hero , Viewtiful Joe. I completely copied the mecha from an ad in magazine for a UK Anime T-Shirt and Art company called TERRATAG.
