I just bought this flick on Blu-ray a few weeks ago. I love the cheese.

Schwarzenneger is #1 FOREVER.

Did you guys know that the main bad guy in the movie (Vernon Wells) was the big bad from Power Rangers Time Force?.

Why what? Why should it be retold?. Simple because the new generation of teens are complete fucking morons and are turned off by "old" movies so this is the best way to keep the legend(s) alive. But that's just my opinion.

God, I remember one guy said "I got Godzilla, wanna watch it?" and we did and I said "Have u seen any of the Japanese ones yet?" and he said "Gojira is from Japan?".

Completely altering the story of said legend isn't a good way to keep it alive IMO. :/

Very true. But this is the era of remakes so all we can do it sit back and accept 'em. I was out today and saw that there is a Robin Hood remake with Russel Crowe?... Each time I looked at that billboard all I could see was Kevin Costner.

I didn't mean with special effects, I meant it's made a trend that everyone is trying to put into their movies.

It's like when the Matrix first introduced bullet time. At first it's like "wow! that's really neat!" then Charlies Angels knocked it off, then Equilibrium, then every single action film for the next three to four years HAD to have people in trendy emo suits kung fu fighting with wires slung across their backs going in slo-mo every once in a while.

Now everyone wants to make their comic book heroes and comic bookish heroes (commando) grim, dark and realistic. I mean, would you wanna see a grim, dark gritty Toxic avengers remake?
