Starting the series today with the first 2 episodes a little later on today. I've been looking forward to watching this series for a long time and I've been a fan of the Metalder costume since the days of Ryan Steel.

There are a few things I've heard about this series including ChangeGriffon is an ally of Metalder. The series was cancelled because it was too dark and dramatic for the younger viewers but the Older audience loved it. It was a tribute to Kikaida.

A few months ago I asked in a thread about the recommendations of the darkest toku out there and among the list was Maskman and Metalder. So I had to grab 'em.

I've just gone through a good list of Toku including B-Fighter, Fiveman, Spielban, and Juspion. They all rocked but I find I'm now in the mood for something a little darker. So hopefully this gives me the craving I desire.

Watched Volume 1 yesterday and I enjoyed it. The DVD quality is friggin' great, not as good as Spielban's but almost up there.

One guy told me the series has a dark and depressing mood to it and boy was he right. But I like darkness injected into my Toku so I got no complaints in that department.

I've never watched a series where the main hero is a Cyborg so it was tough at first to adjust to that because I am so used to Human heroes lol.

The story so far is pretty damn dark. Luckily there are a few websites which answered alot of the questions I had so I don't need to bother asking them here. But I did think it was cool how Dr.Koga got himself killed by the Neros Empire so that Tsurugi/Metalder has a reason to exist and fight Neros.

The Metalder suit is mervellous and looks even better in it's Japanese footage moreso than it did in the U.S. VR Troopers footage.

I like how Metalder is also learning everything he can do with his moves and climbing etc. The Laser Arm Chop (Lightning Hand Command) is a spectacular finisher. One thing that is also cool is Metalder is all about hand to hand combat, no weapons yet.

Topgunder debuted in episode 4 aswell. I can see something big happening with this guy. He doesn't seem like the other baddies of the Neros Empire.

Godneros transformation in his office is pretty damn creepy, especially when the skin on his face moves around. :buttrock:

I also like how each monster from the Army fight eachother and the winner is the one that gets to go and get killed by Metalder haha.

I'll start up Volume 2 in a bit. The only question I have is if there are any Arcs or multiparters in the series?.

I saw the first three episodes of Metalder last year and loved it. "Kimi no Seishun wa Kagayaieteiru Ka" has to be one of the best Japanese opening themes , not just in Toku' , but in general. (Along with some of my other (more , er , modern) favorites like "D-Technolife" from Bleach , but anyways , got a bit off subject).
I just wish I could find the remaining 35 episodes. It was getting to be really great, and it's a shame that it was canceled. I admit that it really WAS very grim and somber, but that's part of why I liked it. :thumbs:

Volume 2 Questions

Episode 5 - Why did the Monster challenge Topgunder?.
In the flashback scene it showed Topgunder killing a man, can someone explain what happend?.
Why did Topgunder's buddy double cross him in the 2nd flashback?.
Was Topgunder shooting the other baddies because he wanted to have a fair fight with Metalder?.
Did Metalder not finish Topgunder off because he believes in fairplay?.

Episode 6 - Why were all the baddies on Topgunder's ass? Did they want to execute him for failing to defeat Metalder?.
What is that small knife that Metalder has in the base?.
How come Metalder keeps malfunctioning during and after battles?.
Can someone also translate his Henshin call?.
-I think the Metalder actor is a very good actor he actually makes himself seem like a Cyborg. Schwarzeneger could learn a thing or 2 from him. :laugh:

Episode 8 - Why infomation did Mai give to Metalder about his father?.
Who was the Scientist that was kidnapped and why was he brought to the battle by Baraka (sp?).
What was Baraka telling Metalder by the fire? It seemed like a background story or something.

Episode 10 - What was the flashback Godneros had of Tatsuo playing the violin? How did he know him?
So did Dr. Koga install his sons memories into Ryuusei/Metalder?.
During the battle why wouldn't Metalder hit the baddie when he was holding the violin?.
At the end of the battle why did the monster play a song before finally being blown up? It seemed him and Metalder were understanding eachother for being machines or something.

Episode 11 - This episode was pretty good, 16 minutes of it was dedicated to the villians.
Why did the baddie attack the others and then flee?
Why the hell are they all fighting eachother? Shouldn't they be focusing on killing Ryuusei?.
What did the villian of the ep say before finally blowing up?.

Episode 12 was the best of the bunch so far. The one villian that Metalder killed has a wife who was pregnant and she wanted vengeance on Metalder for killing her husband. Excellent episode.

Yeah the quality is pretty damn awesome, I ended up buying it for $65 U.S. so it's an extremely good deal.

Shin Kamen Rider, but it sort of doesn't count since it's a movie. Nevertheless, it makes Metalder look like Kabutack.

This guy Raymond was able to answer my questions for Volume 3. But he's gone on Vacation now so It would be really helpful if someone could help with my questions for the remaining volumes.

Volume 4:

Episode 14 - What's the story with Mdonna and why did the Villian end up double crossing her?.

Episode 15 - Was the Green dude Headogross' son? So I guess he's going after Metalder for revenge like his Mother did in the previous set of episodes.
Why did the Green dude continue fighting Metalder even after his Mother said not to?.
What was Metalder saying to him after their battle when Metalder bowed his head down, did he apologize for killing his father?.

Episode 16 - Why did the villians mention Topgunder?.
Who exacally is this Crossranger villian?.
What were the villians asking ChangeGriffon about Metalder?.

Also, I noticed that the Metalder Movie was also included in my set which is definatley a bonus. I was wondering how long the movie was, if it was any good, if it tied in with the series, and when I should watch it. During the series or after the finale?.

Anyone know where I can find some Metalder and/or Metal Heroes Wallpaper?.
