ROUND 1-part 1 CHANGE UP! DREAM TEAM OF JUSTICE!
It's 12:30. the students of Shouri High School bolt out of their classrooms to the cafeteria anxious to fill their stomachs. Some head out to skip their meals and enjoy a ball game or just loaf around the free hour they are given. While the students enjoy their leisure time, a man in his late thirties takes a walk around the school court yards.
As he passed by, he sees a boy and girl, two different people walking towards the waterfall. The boy had a soccer ball in his pouch as he was practicing dribbling. The girl, wearing the school tracksuit jacket on top of her uniform just smiled at the boy as if he was her nephew while he was rambling about some incident the other day.
"I mean really! What kind of goalkeeper lets out a goal to his opponent? If it wasn't for that one moment that tie could have been a tie breaker!"
"Don't be too upset Shogo. It was only a league match. Besides, with your skills, you can make it up for next game."
The boy got upset thinking more about last week's game and started to burst out in an angry mood.
"It wasn't JUST a league match. Some of the high officials from the J-League were there and thanks to soem amatuer I made a total fool out of myself!"
Judging by the boy referring to the girl as his sister, Hideo knew he was looking for not just one of the people he had in mind, but two. Hideo got out his personal terminal and checked through a list of names. After a few scrolls down he found the name Ichigeki Shogo: 16 years old in class 2-A, Forward in the school soccer team. He also got a profile on the girl as well. Ichigeki Misae: 16 years-old in class 2-E. captain of the volleyball team. Hideo let out a smile of satisfaction marking the other names off the list in the folder.
Hideo then headed towards the tennis court and saw a short young girl dressed up in uniform. She was practicing by herself facing the ball launcher. Every hit was accurately performed gracefully and with force. From front hand to back hand she was not missing a single ball until the machine ran out of balls to spit. The crowd girls from the tennis club clapped in astonishment congratulating her on her performance.
"Good going senpai!"
"How do you do that? It's amazing how you can play at that level."
The girls who was reffered to as a senpai, or senior, was shorter than the horde of girls that surrounded her showing off an innocent smile.
"Well, I'm just doing my best. Nothing to it."
Her humble attitude made her even more appealing that people started to gaze at her in awe even more. Hideo clicked the scan option on his terminal waiting for her identification. A few seconds later Hideo was given the girl's name and information.
"Ninomiya Tomoyo. class 2-G. guess she's making the list."
Hideo continued to look for another student on his list. Just as he was walking down the stairway, he heard the faint rumbling of roller blades from the back. Just as he looked back, a young man with a hockey stick, putting on a desperate face, jumped right above him making an aereal leap towards the bottom of the floor. The boy, tall and good looking, as well as with a good build, landed safely on the ground and let out a breath of relief only to start running away. Hideo was a bit dumbfound for a moment and quickly remembered that this boy with a pair of roller blades was who he was looking for as well. But just before he could get his hands inside his pocket to reach his terminal, a sound reminiscent of a herd of wildebeasts were heard from the back. Hideo looked behind to find an armada of girls screaming and hollering the boy's name as they pushed Hideo away.
"Reiji! WE LOVE YOU!"
The number of 20-something girls bumrushed the stairs as they chased the boy on wheels. After the sight has become quiet again, Hideo got out his terminal to find out who this boy was. Hideo looked up the name Reiji and found one match that showed up.
"Yukigawa Reiji, class 2-C. Member of the hockey team. Right wing. Never knew the hockey team had a teen idol."
Hideo turned off his terminal and looked at the sky. The four young boys and girls that he just watched from far were definately what he was looking for. Although these four did not know what was in store for them, Hideo could see the four of them be a force to be reckoned.
"You're daydraming again headmaster?"
A boy with spiky slicked hair called from the top of a tree. The boy jumped down to greet Hideo and started walking along with him.
"You know, I prefer working solo. Must we recruit them all?"
Hideo looked at the boy and replied with a smiling face.
"You know the saying two heads are better than one? Well, that's how this will work. Although one must be confident and determined to win, solitude is not the answer to winning. Teamwork is what counts. That is why those four boys and girls will be a major asset to the V-project."
The boy still gave a rather annoyed look as he did not get the response he was looking for.
"Well, they better be good. Cause if not, I'm going to act solo as always."
Hideo gave the young man a smiling face of assurance.
"They will be good. And you will lead them."
"WHAT?!"
Half a year later.
"Hey, what class are we in?"
"I don't know! Hey quit shoving!"
April. The start of a new school year has come. Students who were seniors were busy wondering what class they were located in. Amongst the crowd, Ninomiya Tomoyo, ex-captain of the tennis club was trying so hard to get a peek of the list of names as she jumped up and down for a glimpse of her name while the tall kids savored the moment. Tomoyo started feeling exhausted and was about to give up until someone from the crowd said, "allow me." and scooped her up to give her a clear view of the list. Tomoyo looked back and below to see a smiling Misae who held her up while Shogo stood next to her waving his hand.
"You guys!"
"How's the view Tomoyo? Any good?"
"Thank you so much! I really needed it!"
"You're welcome. While you're at it, can you look for our names as well? We would really appreciate it."
Tomoyo nodded her head and started looking for her name as well as the Ichigeki twins. Tomoyo began by skimming through class A only to find nothing. She then moved on to B and C where she failed to do so as well. Tomoyo looked one by one carefully making sure that she was not missing out any of their names but all failed.
"Come on, is it that hard to find?"
"Shogo, don't lose your patience. I guess we are at the far end classes huh?"
Misae scolded Shogo in a soft spoken voice as Shogo started to get annoyed as always. Shogo just grumbled to himself about how tiresome it is while Tomoyo kept looking for the names.
"Hey I found it! Our names are on it! And we're all in the same class!"
"What class is it?"
Tomoyo and the twins arrived at the door of their classroom. But something was different. Unlike the typical classrooms, this class was set apart very, very far from the other classrooms. The classroom door did not have the typical homeroom number of 3-A or 3-B, but rather a big V in the center.
"What kind of class is this?"
"Is this one of those detention classes?"
"What?! But I was a good student last year! My grades were not low to be in a detention class!"
The twins were confused as much as a tearful Tomoyo was and could not help but wonder why they were assigned to a completely strange and distinct class for an unexplained reason. Misae then spoke out, "Why not open the door? We might as well see who our classmates are."
Dumbstruck at the rather simple solution, the other two agreed as Misae opened the door slowly anticipating what is beneath the classroom. The door opened and to their surprise, there was no one, and no equipment.
"What kind of joke is this? Someone pulling our leg here?"
Shogo looked around to see an absolute deserted classroom. Misae and Tomoyo were puzzled at what they were seeing as well wondering if someone was really pulling a prank on them.
"This is odd, don't you think?"
"Does this mean I'm not even worthy to graduate?"
Tomoyo started to cry even more than before confused of the whole situation. Just then, the door open as another person entered in a rush.
"Whew. Thank god this place is so far from the other classes."
The fourth person to enter the room was none other than Yukigawa Reiji, sharpshooter of the Hockey team.
"Hey, you guys are in this class too? Where are the desks and chairs here? It looks like a bad horror film."
"That's what we want to know as well."
Misae replied as she was busy keeping Tomoyo calm. Reiji looked around the empty class room; it was nothing different from the other rooms other than its emptiness. While everyone was wondering what is going on, Shogo was already sick and tired of the atmosphere.
"Gosh, this better not be one of those TV show pranks. I'm gonna go to the faculty lounge and see what's up."
Shogo headed towards the door and attempted to open the door, however, it would not budge. He pulled even harder but only wound on wearing himself down.
"Please don't tell me locked us up. What did we do wrong?"
"We're locked in? What did we do to deserve such a thing!"
Shogo got fed up with not only the small classmate's cries but the fact that he is not getting the answers he wants. Shogo gave up on the door and headed towards the locker giving it a good kick and as a result opening it.
"Okay, I've had it. I'm getting out of this school."
Just then, a mechanical hand popped out of the locker like a jack-in-the-box grabbing Shogo and dragging him inside.
"What's going on here!"
"Shogo! What did you do?"
"How should I know? I just nudged it a bit!"
Reiji dashed towards Shogo and whipped out his hockey stick. Shogo instinctively grabbed the end of it as he struggled to be free. The girls ran to Shogo trying to pull him away from the hand.
"It's too strong!"
"I don't want Shogo to diiiiieeeee!"
"Tomoyo your crying isn't helping me!"
While the girls were pulling Shogo out, Reiji noticed three other lockers opened up to shoot out the same hand Shogo was caught in. Reiji evaded the hands as he was holding on to his hockey stick like a mouse escaping a cat's claws. Reiji kicked two of the hands away which flew towards the girls and eventually caught them instead while the third hand caught Reiji.
The four students were furiously kicking and screaming trying to squeeze themselves out of the mess. However, their attempts were futile and all four were completely dragged into their lockers as the doors closed.
"This is not how I want to end high school!"
Tomoyo's last words were just that as a bright light shined from within the lockers and their frantic screamings were nowhere to be heard after the light was gone while someone else entered the room just after the light faded.
At the same time, On the porch of the headmaster's office, Hideo heard a beeping noise from his terminal and saw a display that read CLASS SESSION BEGIN. Hideo smiled and headed towards the school hall as he exited the office.
Meanwhile, the four seniors landed in a dark room. The four looked around and saw nothing but black while there were lights from above. The whole room was like the inside of a dome theatre and was really wide. Shogo looked around and was the first one to say, "Okay, just where are we again?"
Misae looked around confused like her brother and classmates.
"This sure doesn't look like school to me."
Tomoyo sniffled as she got out a kleenex and wiped her eyes and blew her nose.
"This is too much."
Reiji was the only one with a smile on his face as he said, "As long as I'm away from the groupies, fine by me."
"Then you stay here while we go back to our lives."
Shogo replied in a rather annoyed manner until the lights faded to black and out of the blue, the dome lit up to reveal a video projecting all around them.
'WELCOME TO ATRA. PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR IDENTIFICATION.'
