No, just no. Cap's shield is one of the strongest objects in the Marvel Universe, stronger than even adamantium. It is an important part of the character and what he stands for. You have this embodiment of American ideals wielding one of the strongest objects in the world, but it is not designed to kill instead it is to defend people.

A nuclear explosion can't scratch it. Yeah it absurd but this is comics after all. Vance Astro from the original Guardians of the Galaxy ended up with it in the 31st century and this was after a martian invasion wiped out every hero on the planet (except Wonder Man).
