In the wake of the sacking of the head's of Infinity Ward (Dev. of Modern Warfare 2) over so called "Creative Direction differences", Acitivision has announced that the Call of Duty Franchise is going to expand with the help of some new developer teams.
Acti plan's to apply the Blizzard model for franchise expansion when it comes to Call of Duty from now on. Teryarch is still on track to deliver the seventh game in the main series this Fall (Rumored to take place during 'Nam in the early 70's), And IW is still gonna deliver at least 2 Map Packs for MW2, but they will NOT be handling Next years COD game, that one is being developed by a currently unknown studio.
Another title in the series, being made by Sledgehammer Games, will come out next year as well, and will be a "Action Adventure" game rather than a FPS.
Will CoD become the next Guitar Hero? In that it get's milked until everyone gets tired of it?
