From that interview, Quesada seems intent on reconciling every detail of continuity so that BND doesnt come off as a stand-alone timeline which it has for quite a long time.
What interests me more is that he now intends this to be a TRILOGY, with the final part coming in the ever-predictably exploitable 2012 (based on what he says by possibly waiting two more years). This means BND now has a two-year window of DIRECTION, which it hasnt had. The Webheads have until then to clean their act up and prepare the characters for that third part rather than coast and let their boss down. Quesada stepping in with the set goals he has is a sign of sturdy leadership and responsiblity from him. It'd probably have happened a lot earlier if he had been less occupied with the events.
Maybe Marvel intend to bring the marraige back around the time everyone is excpecting either a New Age/The next Adam and Eve/The End of Time/Ascension/Jesus/Doomsday and give the franchise some JMS-level biblical closure
