Buffy The Vampyr Slayer Season 7 - Talkback

Without spoiling for you, but in Season 2's finale "Becoming" Pt.1&2. Angel explains his past and arriving to Sunnydale and LA and how he first saw Buffy before she was the Slayer and how she was popular and whatnot.

Then is shows the Watcher arriving and telling Buffy she is the Slayer and whatnot. Overall a good retelling from the original.

The Buffy movie was fun but I just couldn't take it seriously especially with numbnuts Luke Perry. The Series > movie without a shadow of a doubt.

I would recommend you rewatch the movie before you jump into the series though they tie up good together.

Seasons 2&3 are my favorites. 1 and were good, but uneven; 5 was 3rd tier but still fun; 6 was pretty unwatchable except for the musical; and 7... well, you should watch and draw your own conclusions, but for those who have seen it:

The last season of Buffy seemed to me to be the epitome of "unrealized potential." They set up a lot of really cool stuff in the beginning of the season-- Dawn's crowd, the potential conflict between her and Buffy-- and then promptly forgot about pretty much all of it. The latter half, at least when I was watching it, seemed like "3 episodes of moping around while Taunty the Wonder Entity mocks and demoralizes, 1 episode of some action." The final couple of episodes were cool, but there were a few things that really annoyed me even then, foremost among them the idea that Wood, Giles, and the other mortals could last for more than ten seconds against the übervamps... They kind of tossed the idea of continuity out, which is a shame, because previous seasons were really good about that.

So I am 6 episodes into Season 7 and this has to be without a doubt the darkest Buffy season of them all. I heard Joss had to make the season lighthearted more because it was too dark. I love it like this.

Another thing that I'm really enjoying is how it's back to the original core team (Buffy, Willow, Xander) with Dawn in their aswell obviously. Very awesome move by the writers.

I don't think I've ever seen Spike as fucked up as he is now aswell. The First Evil is pretty damn awesome too especially giving Spike the good 'ole mind ****.
