I've always assumed that Hide was gay, at least junk I've heard over the years kind points me to believe that, and that Masato Uchiyama from Nexus and Kabuto was at least bi.

That or he just had a super close relationship with Hide. But hey, that never happens between men, does it?

I dunno, I think it's kind of neat - variety is the spice of life and all that. I always liked both versions of Yaguruma and I don't really care who he wants to bang, he's still awesome regardless.

Uchiyama though... it's weird, I hate him in both Faiz and Kabuto - he's such a whiney bastard. Hard to believe he plays Ren in Nexus, because Ren is awesome.

He was just awesome was Ren, I remember being so excited when I saw him in Kabuto, but then I figured he'd only be there for an episode or two...and then he stuck around, and I fanboy'd, a lot. Then he turned into a super bitch and I died a little bit inside. He's definitely suited for roles that don't make him out to be a psychopath.

Yeah. Man, I really want to rewatch Nexus now with all this talk of Ren. The bits between him and Mizuo during the lead-up to the battle with Ezmael were really, really well played - even despite the traditional Japanese awkwardness with romantic relationships.
