Okay okay i cant belive nobody made a thread yet about this wonderful wonderful anime,IT PWNS. Plus is it just me or this anime would've made a GREAT toku?

lets discuss

I'm not sure if I'm gonna get in trouble for trying to resurrect a thread that's been dead for 2 years and 3 months, but so be it. I like Blassreiter. I like it a lot. I thought it sounded awesome when I first heard of it, and now that I'm actually watching it, it's even better than I thought it would be. To me, it's a combination of themes from both Showa and Heisei Kamen Rider; the Showa part is the cyborgs and the emphasis on motorcycle action, but the Heisei part is the human tragedy and feelings of alienation and loneliness that in many ways are even worse than the kaijin (Demoniac/Amalgam) attacks.

Gerd's story in particular reminded me somewhat of Yuji Kiba from Kamen Rider Faiz, in the sense that he tried to be a hero despite what he'd become, but he was pushed too far by the betrayals of people he thought cared about him and it made him go nuts. The anti-immigrant prejudice seen throughout the setting, even giving rise to two Amalgamated/Demonized heroes, is also a strong reminder that man's inhumanity to man can be far worse than any made-up supernatural/paranormal threat.

On a related note, has anyone read the gaiden manga for Blassreiter? I checked out scanlations of the first 6 chapters and there's supposed to be a total of 18 chapters, but for some reason the scanlations stopped at 6. Aside from that, the story is based around a side character from the anime named Snow, centering around her quest for redemption after becoming an Amalgam and revolving around the theme of "evil hidden behind a sweet face." Fair warning, though, as there are a lot of instances of nubile young women ending up in states of undress, one semi-explicit rape scene (not entirely what it looks like, as you'll find out later), and even a villain apparently designed to appeal to lolicon fetishists, and that's on top of the expected bloodshed (expected if you're familiar with the anime, that is). If that doesn't daunt you at all, feel free to look for it.

The writer of this show happens to be the writer of Den-O and Shinkenger. I need to see this show damn it. Does anyone know where I can find the episodes because I've heard that its good?
