Best and Worst Kamen Rider Finales

The Kabuto ending suffered the same problems the rest of the series did.
The OOOs ending worked best thematically and it wouldn't have made sense for anything else to happen. If they had a "super" form or another villain, it would have taken away from the true point.
W's ending worked because it was mostly about Shotaro finally being a real detective like Skull was. He was spreading his wisdom on. The Phillip part was the point and a lot of people miss that.
Hibiki's ending also suffered. Kiriya was not a good character and having him have such a huge role was a bad idea. Although, that last scene on the beach was obviously scripted from the beginning of the series, and that was pretty good.

Say all you want about Decade, but at least it had the gull to actually finish its damn plot. Kiva? Oh, cool, wedding... SUDDENLY NEO FANGIRES! Just... what? Not to mention the half-assed "Oh, hey, I'm alive!" trope that was so nice they done it twice.

I think one of the best endings by far is OOO's ending. I dunno. It felt like Double's Finale done right. No, I don't mean as in "Waaaah! Phillip should have dieeeed! He should have been brought back in Movie War!" I mean as in it sort of accomplished something in a lot of people. Ankh had his sense of fulfillment, Eiji had his development, and the final arc broke from that "monster of the week" format and had a lot of memorable deaths, to the point where it began to feel like a Pre-Decade Kamen Rider Show.

It gets hate because it was awful. They shoe horned in Kiba as the final villain so they could have a final battle. There was no resolution AT ALL in faiz. I find it really funny that you can't see that.

And I find it funny that you cant see my own point: The whole point of Faiz is that there is no resolution. Not in real life anyway. The world just keeps spinning and sometimes there IS no resolution.

Regardless of whether that was the intended idea of the ending or not, thats what i took out of it.

I dont think Kiba taking a 180 turn near the end is so completely out of left field. I would have to go back and watch it but im fairly certain he flipflopped a lot during the series.

The one problem people also find with W's last episode is the pacing of the episode.

It goes constantly between right after Phillip disappear and where Shotaro is alone as Joker. So it feels incomplete. You can tell there is a lot more that it wanted to tell in that very last episode.

I like the Faiz ending just fine. It was a depressing conclusion to a depressing show. Almost everyone's dead, except Takumi and Kaido (who are going to die because they're Orphenochs) and Mari and Keitaro (who are annoying.) And the Orphenoch King is still alive and it could all start up again in a week. Doom and gloom all the way!

I think that the ending to the Greeed/King OOO plot was a little anti-climactic and felt somewhat rushed, but the emotional impact of the ending far and away made up for it. I absolutely loved it. I was also happy to see Yuki and Kengo during the credits (it was a nice little shout-out and one in the eye to the people who whine about the shows not being "canon" to each other) and right at the very end where Ankh is still following Eiji.

Actually, I would love to see Rider shows continue to feature a character from the new series during the credits to the last episode. I will be over the moon if a Wizard character appears during Fourze's ending

I think the issue with Double's finale is that it was obviously originally planned to be a two-parter like all of Double's stories. When they had to shorten it to a single episode you get this unusually rushed feel that the rest of the series doesn't have that can throw people off.

I also tend to really object to the complaint that Philip should have stayed dead. Doing that would have been a betrayal of everything Double was ultimately about (especially the undertone about how being truly hard-boiled just for the sake of being hard-boiled is ultimately self-destructive).

While Shoutaro does have the ability to rise to the occasion and harden his heart to do what needs to be done when it matters most, what saves him from the same lonely fate as his mentor is also his ability to reach out and understand others. That ability is ultimately personified through his partnership with Philip, so removing Philip from the final summation of the show's themes (which is what an epilogue generally is for) just doesn't make sense.

It's the rushed epilogue episode combined with Phillip coming back that irks it.

People would prefer Phillip to have stayed dead due to the finale, but because we "missed" half the arc we can't tell how it would have been. It do however make me wish they had gotten an extra timeslot, possibly stealing either Goseiger or Precure's for that one week.

I don't think Philip coming back really hurt the ending. He and Shotaro are meant to be together, they're partners, 2 in 1 and all that - it is the point of the show. I think a lot of the complaints about it are just because so many people think character deaths are cool or somehow make the show better

It's not as much the fact he came back, it's how because it feels incomplete due to the lack of half a episode. (At least that's how I view it)

I suppose so, it would have worked better over the course of two episodes, but with what we got I thought it turned out OK ...
