Astronomers find big space blob from early universe

I'd swear that Chronotia posted this yesterday. :sly:

Pretty cool stuff regardless. I love the ability we have to look back in time, and feel kind of sorry for future developing civilizations a few billion years from now that will have the early universe out of their reach.

Speaking of which, this would be a scientific breakthrough, considering that the space we thought was just this, is actually larger and have more interesting things that are scientifically amuzing.

becuase space is so big and light can only travel so fast, the stars are actually photos from a thousand years ago or more, or so i was told

How do you look back in time?

I think my science teacher said that in space, it takes a while for light to travel here and therefore when we see a star in the sky we are actually looking at its image in the past.

For example, if we were to see a star exploding in the sky here on Earth, in actuality the star has already exploded many years ago and is now gone. But because it just took some time for light to travel to Earth, we are actually looking back into the past.
