Anyone Like or Dislike Kamen Rider Kabuto? *spoilers*

(likes)

*FIGHT SCENCES!!! THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!! It blows everything away!
*YAGURUMA!!!!!!!!!
*Soundtrack!!!
*Cast Off and Clock Up System!
*Suit designs is simple yet looks cool and awesome!

*Black Kabuto! ( I prefer to call him Black Kabuto as the stripes in his helmet reminds me of Kamen Rider Black! and besides Kabuto is The Sun so that means Dark Kabuto is the Black Sun = Kamen Rider Black! LMAO!!! =)

Speaking of "the sun", the show kinda reminds me of Gensomaden Saiyuki!

Tachikawa referred to Tendou by his real name, Souji Kusakabe, the one who is chosen by Kabuto, the god of the "SUN" = GENJO SANZO??? both rude and arrogant!!!

Kagami was referred to by Tachikawa as Kagami Arata, the one who is chosen by the god of "BATTLE" = SON GOKU??? both childish and looks up to Sanzo/Tendou.

Genjo Sanzo is the Sun to Goku just like Tendou is to Kagami. =)

Also, Yaguruma sang both of Gensomaden Saiyuki opening themes (For Real and Still Time).

*Tsurugi and Jiiya!
*Renge!!! I love Renge!
*Tadokoro and Misaki!
*Masato Mishima!!!!
*Kageyama! (I hated him at first but I like the punch hopper and how he calls Yaguruma "Aniki")
*The Humor
*Daisuke and Gon! Ultimate Make-up Technique!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Reiji Nogi's first appearance!!!

(dislikes)

*FINALE! I hated the finale!
*Negishi!!!!!! grrr...
*Yaguruma! how can they end the Yaguruma character like that! =(
*Drake was always absent

Overall
8/10

I still like the show, cuz it had great costumes, weapons, and some good characters. but the story just totally screwed it up as far as rankings go. i think it may stay at the bottom for me till i see a totally horrible KR season that is worse in story.

lets pray that never happens.

Kabuto is pretty much synonymous in my mind with wasted potential. Early on it had huge amounts of possiblities, the rider designs and concepts were brilliant, the story was intriguing, everything seemed to be in its favour. Even the early storylines were very compelling (oh god Kagami in the last half of the episode with his brother was heartbreaking).

But despite all of the potential it had, as it progressed it became clear that it wasn't living up to what it could have been. The Kagami becoming Gatack arc was the last episode that I watched and didn't think "god why aren't they resolving any of the plot". The fact that they had been doing two part arcs throughout always irked me (I think it would have been better writing to have the arcs overlapping more and having different lengths), but in the middle it started to just have arcs that started a standalone story then resolved it without any real contribution to the overall story. Leaving it like this meant lots of the early hinting got dropped because they suddenly only had 10 episodes to tell the conclusions that could have been spread much more satisfactorarily over 25 episodes.

Sasword was a perfect example of this, he gets his early stuff and OMG HE'S A WORM. Then he got some character development (one of the few good things about the show, I loved Tsurigi) and became actually really likable. Then his character development just got left lying around until suddenly the writers seemed to decide to compress stuff that should have been spread over the whole later half of the series into yet ANOTHER 2 episode arc. When they actually did stuff that progressed the plot, it was reasonable, but given most of it was fit into the last 5 episodes, it was far too little, far too late.

Not to mention all of the stuff that didn't really seem to have a purpose to the story, Hoppers could have been really great, they WERE good but they just ended up gone without ever really having a major effect on the story. Red shoes system could have added some interesting developments (I was hoping for Kagami's to get activated when near Tsurigi and for that to reveal to him that he's a worm which could have then led on to something similar to his death arc only done over more time).

A show that starts great but finishes badly is more dissappointing in my mind than one that starts badly and finishes badly as well. Kabuto's writers dropped the ball really badly near the middle when if it had kept going, it could have been something truely amazing.

I like Kabuto but the story got dragged and it got boring towards the end... But one scene that owns every other scenes in kabuto has got to be the triple rider kick... It totally rocks seeing Kabuto, Gatack and Kick Hopper combining to destroy the worm.

Yeah, that called out to the toku fanboy in all of us, but STILL.... despite the awesome fights and special effects, Kabuto still failed to deliver a good story in the end. No matter how hard I tell myself that Kabuto sucked, whenever I see Tendou fight, the fanboy in me immediately takes over. Man. Resolve. RESOLVE.

You said it perfectly. It was disappointing because they did everything else but the storyline perfectly. Imagine if the plot matched the fight scenes and characters.
