Anyone interested in a Mass Effect RP?

I've been throwing around ideas for an RP, to find an idea that isn't stale, provides some possibilities for interesting characters and story lines, and might get enough interest to stick around.

Would any of you be interested in starting an RP in the Mass Effect universe?

Race: (Asari, Drell, Elcor, Hanar, Human, Salarian, Turian, Volus, Batarian, Krogan, Quarian)
Class: (A guide to what your character's abilities are closest to. This is just a guide to what abilities they might have, and not your character's profession. These are Soldier, Adept, Engineer, Vanguard, Infiltrator, Sentinel. Racial Specialties are also available. Just take a look on the ME Wiki page here)
Weapons: (Pick two from Pistols, Submachine Guns, Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles. Soldiers can get heavy weapons as a third slot.)
Description: (A picture if you've got it, text if you don't.)
Profession: (Class is what your character can do, profession is what your character does for a living)
Background:

On classes: These are just a general guide to what your character can do..you can make things up within reason. Someone with no Biotics is not just going to manifest them out of nowhere, and a combat specialist is not likely to be the one to hack a security system. The key word here is "plausibility", if it sounds like it would work, then it will work.)

A couple of ground rules:
1) Keep it kind of grounded. Council Spectres are off-limits for now.
2) Don't just copy something from the source material, okay?
3) I know a couple of those races I included might be joke entries, but if someone wants to think outside the box, go for it. If you want a gun-slinging Hanar or an Elcor with a rocket launcher mounted on the back, give some plausible explanation and go.

Is this gonna be a an alternate universe or something? What time frame is it set in?

The time is set along the lines of the first game, 2183 CE.

It's an alternate universe..sort of. The people involved are taking the place of the main character(s), so it's your story. Other than that, the setting is pretty much the same.

This is to avoid things like having canon characters show up and steal the limelight.

Name: Tal Varen
Age: 32
Race: Volus
Class: Adept
Weapons: If pressed, Tal can use a pistol or a submachine gun. He isn't that great with weapons, but he isn't totally helpless.
Description: Pic Tal's pressure suit is a flat, steel color, unlike the one in the picture. He'll polish it to a shine for important meetings, and the like.
Profession: Tal is a businessman of some repute. The opinion of him differs depending who you're talking to, but even the people who aren't fond of him admit that the Volus is reliable. He runs a variety of goods all over the galaxy, supposedly dealing in illegal cargo in the Terminus Systems. The exact level of his wealth is unknown, but he never seems to be lacking for much.
Background: Most of his background is fairly unremarkable. He was born on the Volus homeworld of Irune, and showed a natural inclination toward trading, as most Volus do. He started off simple..a few trading runs with other Volus, then hiring on with a mercenary group as their supply officer. After that, his rise is positively meteoric.. A series of business rivals met with unfortunate accidents, and he took control of one trading syndicate after another, building his own power and influence. He eventually bought shares in a cargo ship named the Guardian of Fortune, becoming the sole owner when the others were killed in a pirate raid out in the Terminus Systems. He's run his operation out of the Fortune ever since, avoiding a lot of pesky tax laws.

He has in his employ a mercenary bodyguard, a Human named Elvio Schiavone that's assumed does most of his dirty work.

Note: Yes, he is a biotic..but nobody is aware of this, with the possible exception of his guard. The mystery of exactly how a Volus became a biotic will just have to remain such, until someone digs it out..
