Anyone else here gotten their Wisdom Teeth pulled?

I only had one taken out so far and it was not that bad. The dentist did not even offer to give me any anesthetic, instead while examining my teeth he gave me a shot to numb to pain or kill the sucker that was holding my teeth. After 10 minutes of waiting for the stuff in the syringe to settle in my month, the dentist went in and yanked the sucker out. It did not hurt BUT I did feel it 'pop' out. Literally

After the procedure was done, I bleeded for about maybe two to three hours and after that it was dry so I assume I can eat something right? NOPE could not eat a single thing until the next day on my lunch break at work. Fun days!

I have another one in the back right now but apparently I don't have to remove it for a while.

I had all 4 of mine removed back at the end of December. It was wonderful... the numbing had worn off by the time I got home, and the pharmacy was busy so it took about an hour and a half to get my meds. Yeeeah, it was pretty bad, but after like 3 days it felt alright. Then it started hurting again, worse than it did the first day, so I had to go back to get it all looked at. God that was so much fun, I wanted to die. D:

Nope, when my dentist saw mine coming in, they told me they looked like they would fit just fine, and only needed to take them out if they bothered me....

Basically he was telling me I had a big mouth....

It wasn't a bad experience for me at all. I went in early in the morning, they gassed me, I woke up in another room, and then they told me it was all over. It wasn't really that painful, but blood was pouring out of my mouth like a waterfall for the rest of the day. I just spent the rest of the day drugged up, in bed, watching anime.

Actually, it was a pretty good day.

So how do you know if you have one anyways? It has to be grown in an odd place in your mouth?

Your wisdom teeth are just the last teeth that erupt in your mouth. Most people get them in their late teens or early 20s. Almost everyone gets them removed or has some teeth removed so they can erupt cleanly.

Since they're the teeth that come in last, most people have the problem of not having enough room in their mouths for them. So if they're allowed to come in, they'll crowd other teeth and cause you a lot of pain.

Some people also have a problem where they're turned around the wrong way and would erupt, like, out the sides of their gums or something if they were allowed to come in. So it's also better to just remove them in those cases, too.

I had one of my wisdom teeth pulled last year and had no problem. My dentist just took it out like any other tooth. The pulling itself wasn't pleasant, but it only took about fifteen seconds. That was the only pain I had through the whole thing. Afterward, I was fine.

That only thing that really sucked for me was that I couldn't smoke. They said wait a week to avoid a "dry socket". I only waited three days though and didn't have a problem.

It does hurt when you're pretty much in bed-mode. It's not so bad though, and the procedure itself is pretty easy.

Got mine taken out before the school year started.
