Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds Remake

I take issue with that ,actually. People can't "rape" a memory because you don't have to see the film. The movie wasn't anything special, besides the one scene I saw at Universal where the birds were attacking the entire town at once [which I found to be very funny because I thought it was fake and or a parody. I was a kid.]

The whole film is "sort of" scary, but I found the plot to be overrated in terms of the hype that has been generated over the years. Maybe its because it wasn't as graphic as I'd pictured a bird disaster film to be. Or maybe, its because its even more unrealistic than Godzilla or any of the more "implausible" monsters of cinema. Maybe the film would have been better as science fiction?

As long as it isn't Birdemic, it'll be OK.

Michael Bay's BIRDPLOSIONS!!!

I actually watched The Birds for the first time last month and it was down right incredible. Excellent characters, camera work, sound effects, it was suspenseful, and over all just an amazing movie all around. In fact, nearly all of the Hitchcock movies I have seen over the last few months (my g/f got the 15 movie BD set in Nov) have been nothing short of stellar. NONE of this man's movies ever need to be remade!! I think Saboteur is the only one I did not care for at all while Marnie was a little disappointing considering the casting.

grumble grumble why can't they just base it on the short story by Daphne Du Maurier and cut out all the crap with Tippi Hedren's character, all of which was invented for the movie and was less interesting (if more appealing to Hollywood) than the original plot?

but then BAYSPLOSIONS

From what I read, Naomi Watts is going to be playing Tippi's character.
