Adult Swim's Latest Aquisistion

If they're gonna bring anything from Filmation over to AS, I'd reccomend Blackstar.:P
Either that or The New Adventures of Batman from 1977(which was produced by Filmation)
On to the subject at hand..
I do admit I am troubled by Cartoon Network airing live-action programming, regardless of whether it`s Adult Swim or not.I really have this feeling they`re gonna do a G4-like move and turn it into some generic network.
Another thing that bugs me is they take cartoons that were/are aimed at kids like Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos or Super Globetrotters and pass them off as adult programming.Um,those shows ran during kids TV hours in their original heydays. They are kids shows,no matter what some clown at CN says.

You could easily put those shows on during the day.It wouldn`t hurt to air some cartoon from the 70s or 80s during normal programming hours. You can air something besides two hours of Totally Spies,or the 900,000th airing of one of the 276 Land Before Time movies.Who`s to say some kid wouldn`t enjoy a show like Dynomutt or the awesomeness that is SWAT Kats(which did come back to CN for a few weeks)?
Bring back the Hanna-Barbera shows, bring back Batman Beyond,Batman, and Superman, bring back Dexter, and don`t try to pass them off as "adult programming" either.Show more of shows like Teen Titans or Justice League, and not air them when you need an hour or two to fill with something other than some live-action movie that gets gutted anyway.

I have to point out one thing, while I do think AS much like the Ultimate MArvel writers need to just stop and breath for 5 minutes, It seems that no one was noticing something. You keep from up the night they aired chuck Norris and Mr. T etc..... did anyone realize that aired on April 1st? it was a gag!

Eh. They're making plenty of money like they are, so I doubt this.

They're airing those shows in the graveyard hour, mostly for nostalgia purposes.

Correction: SWAT Kats got A week. One. After that, pulled. The LBT movies don't air on CN anymore and TS gets one airing a day. You know what's really being reaired constantly? Billy and Mandy. Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Kids Next Door. Foster's. And they give about four or five hours of the day to preschool programming. I knew four years ago that the Cartoon Cartoons would mean the death of CN, but no one agreed with me. :disappoin

Believe it or not, most of those action movies weren't gutted. No one's trying to pass any of these shows off as "adult", where are you getting that from? H-B shows, Bats, Supes, Dexter, and BB are all on (well, maybe not BB) Boomerang, which, looking at its schedule, pwns the **** outta CN and Nick's line-ups put together. Then again, the only reasons I care about CN anymore are Toonami, Adult Swim, and GX. That's a catchy theme song.

Of course, the graveyard hour airs The Gary Coleman show and the Super Globetrotters....:rolleyes2:

To note, apparently Saved by the Bell is a joke.

For the record, these bumpers are a joke to rile up those who hate CN for airing live action movies. Both listings providers (Gemstar and Zap2it) don't have it on the schedule, as well as the Turner Affiliate site.

It's a joke. I got confirmation from the rep at the affiliate site that it's a joke by the Adult Swim department.

Case closed.

...Man, if that's true, I owe these guys mad props for sticking it to CN and the typical animation supernerd who goes apeshit over things like this.

Well, yeah, apparently now the guy retracted his statement and apparently SBTB is now listed on all schedules...

Apparently it being a joke didn't neccessarially mean that it wouldn't air. :redface2:

I apoligize for the false sense of security. :redface2:
