You know... as much as it's said that Saban ruined it and all.... Masked Rider still had a full run and ended up using all the footage it could.

It's not like it was cancelled, like Mystic Knights or Young Hercules... it ran out of footage to use.

Masked Rider is a fucking disgrace to everything. Trying to give it justice just wont work with the many of us who've seen Black RX. It's not even worth defending man.

I also heard from somewhere, that not only was Ishinomori outraged by what Saban did to Masked Rider, he then refused to let Saban have any other Kamen Rider footage at all.

Yup, that's right. The show itself is completely indefensible. I'm sure seeing that dreck cut Ishinomori-san's lifespan.

Masked Rider turned out to be such a mess. It's really unfortunate because the way he was portrayed in "A Friend in Need" was really cool.

I was first introduced to Ishinomori when I read Cyborg 009, because I was getting into vintage Manga (mainly Osamu Tezuka). I was looking up other series he created, then I saw Kamen Rider. I kept looking and somehow I ended up seeing the cover for the vol 1 DVD of Kamen Rider Hibiki. It looked awesome, so I ordered it, then somehow, it led to Sentai, and now I am COMPLETELY hooked. ..after each episode of Masked Rider they should show an episode of Kamen Rider Black RX with subtitles, and introduce it as "the Japanese show that inspired Masked Rider". Then once both Masked Rider and Kamen Rider Black RX have finished they should show the "prequel" Kamen Rider Black. And who knows, maybe Kamen Rider might have a bit of competition with the Power Rangers (Mario and Sonic style).

And yes, Ishimori kicks ass!! Jsmile:
