A personal message from Bruce Kalish

Well, the series was entirely about Krueger.

SPD finding A-Squad was ruined by the fact that they hadn't been looking all season, the overt focus on their surprise that Red was a chick (Which Sky, Bridge and Syd should have known) and the terrible ADR acting.

The fight was A-squad was ruined by the lack of any explanation whatsoever for why they were evil (So they just want to rule the world? All of them? And they let them be Power Rangers?), the fact that the rangers were tooled until they pulled out a more powerful toy, and the really boring fight. (Even I'm getting bored to tears by the wirework, and I love that stuff.)

Kruger leaving was a Kruger moment, which you weren't allowed to bring up. :) More on that later.

Kat becoming Kat Ranger was a throwaway that made no sense. She turned down the same position she was offered that episode a few episodes before in "Dismissed" when Birdy offered it the first time. Now that Birdy's not a dick, she's considering it, even though it's against her principles before? Inconsistent character, no real drama, and for someone who hates comedy, half that episode was NS-style comedy with Boom.

Please tell me you didn't just mention SWAT. Come on, man. Open your eyes. The Rangers, who have bonded and are the best of friends every episode since Sky gave up trying to be the Red Ranger suddenly hate each other for no reason. Even Bridge is suddenly filled with rage, which makes no sense at all. So they're sent off to Deka Storyline Land to find themselves again, which they do by getting lost in the woods and suddenly having terrible acting in lines full of bad war movie cliches. Oh, and the armor was already ready for them, so it didn't really matter whether they became friends or not, since anyone with a brain knew they were going to come back and be the Rangers, otherwise Kruger has just left the earth entirely defenseless. That's GREAT drama right there.

Reflections should have been great. But unfortunately, half of it was wasted on a commercial for the Battleizer, the other half was a bad ripoff of The Silence of the Lambs (nearly word for word), that once again showed that Chris Violette would give great performances if they gave him anything to work with. ("You're a MONSTER! WAAA!")

And yeah, there was some good drama around Doggy, but considering the entire series was mostly devoted to making him look cool (Watch Endings pt. 2 again. In the series finale, who does all the work and defeats every major villain? Doggy.) that's not a real surprise.

So did you have any real moments of drama?

^ Hey, I never said SPD was perfect. But everything I mentioned completely owned anything NS & DT did in the drama department, even if you didn't consider it to be dramatic.

I find it hard to believe you can go that in depth about certain SPD episodes and NOT do the same with NS and DT episodes. That's just completely ..... odd.

But anyway, This conversation can't really have a winner considering some people like some things and others like other things. I've said my part and I thought I gave valid points. I thought SPD was alright but not enough to continue the convo, dude. Had it been MMPR-PRWF then I would, but like I said I ain't that much of an SPD fan but I do like it better than NS and DT.

and that's pretty much the bottom line.

I would'nt stop at just him, I've taken great pride in knowing SPD hatred is hardly the minortiy Bruce pretends it is, and the dramatics, without proper structure, really comes off more as something 7th Heaven comes up with in one week to garner a reaction, all of the "major" moments of drama in this shitty season had no reason to exist except for the sake of it, barring the grand total of THREE developed characters.

Oh I can. There's quite a few NS and DT moments that made me want to throw up, but no where near as many as in SPD.

Of course, one of my favorite moments in the season, the battle between Trent and his clone, is one of the most hated by everyone else. :)

I actually liked the fight between Trent his clone at the Mercer home.

"Strange Relations" is one of the best PR episodes period, think "Return of the Green Ranger" done absolutley right, in one condensed episode, with an actual DEATH, not some stupid scenario involving time travel, giant rats, and odd bonkins preservations of the clone

You guys can take ur goofy villians, dumbass one liners, pathetic storylines, and "comedy" that only a 3 year old could enjoy and keep it. I'll stick to my Darker, epic, dramatic, badass Power Rangers that I love.

....Why are you acting as if none of the NS and DT fans like the darker, epic seasons of PR also? I'm all for that myself, but not if its' anything like "STD"

Agreed, I'm sure when I finally get to see iS and TF I'll love them.

TF was way pure gold and one of the best season ever. It's in the FIRST place. Dark, serious, less romance between Jen and Wes, excellent storyline and others. All characters (Rangers and villains) are the best ever in PR history. There were two episodes that I didn't like was "The Legend Of Clock Tower" (it was kinda of bored and the sentai footage repeat from other ep) and "Time For Lightspeed" (Worst team up ever. It was completely rushed).

It's funny. I hated 2 episodes from Time Force and SPD. :shakefist

I loved iS and it was very good season.

Actually, the reason is pretty elementary and explained...
They wanted to fight alongside the best and they thought Grumm was that person.
Which explains why the became evil.
