A personal message from Bruce Kalish

The pro SPD party is just...I can't possibly understand where they're coming from. I hear people talk about how this was the greatest season ever and it hurts my brain. How can people watch the unmitigated crap that was half this season and still say it was good?

PR has had consistantly good seasons before. Look at Zeo, if you want one that ISN'T NS or DT. People just hate on those because, oh no, it had comedy in it and didn't take itself deathly seriously. And you can't do that in PR, because men in spandex fighting giant monsters has to be deathly serious. Yeah.

GREATEST-SEASON-EVER!

Seriously though... in my opinion it is.
When I watch PR, I really cant take it seriously because I know it's a kid's show and it's not worth going crazy over.
The way I enjoy PR is by watching it and seeing if episodes are exciting. Of course the majority of them may be filler but I enjoy those filler episodes how they are. If the cast is likeable, style is fantastic, and action is kickass, then that's enough for me to call it a great season... And that's exactly what SPD was.

It made me tune in each week wanting to see more, something a PR series has not done for me ever.

(They used the octopus...LMAO)

Disney doesn't get the option for the movie footage, some sort of contract reason.

I agree with you and atleast two episodes sucked. :shakefist

To be honest, I seriously hated Sam part 1&2... but other than that, everything was cool
I still consider it the best season in my book ^_^;

I loved Sam, part 1-2 and the boy was definitely better than Justin.

Pespective and Robotapoolza sucked so badly. :redface2: Those both were completely wasted.

Long term fans like me care for one thing.

So Doug gets labled "Soug Dloan" and as someone who makes certain people feel "sick to their stomachs?",

ahahh...yeah, classic examples of mature criticisms there, whilst "Bruce Kantwrite" getting slammed in a polite way.

I'm a long term fan. Since the debut at the end of Aug in '93.

I've called Soug Dloan since the minute I saw a mature PR turned into an idiot fest ("Prelude to a Storm").

I think Bruce gets slammed in a polite way because the work he has done is alot better than the bullshit Sloan did and it's true. The only thing I ever enjoyed from Sloan was "Fighting Spirit". Everything else was just literally STUPID.

Then again that's just my opinion.

OH TESTIFY!

They hate on it because its' the "thing" to do so, new producer, new ass to kiss, I'll never be entirly convinced any pro SPD rants are either objective or fair until a few years pass and they see things a lot more...broader.

He gets off lightly due to yes-man butt puckering, his work has been grossly inferior not just to Dougs', but to Judds and Johns', so its' not at all limited to just one producer the nazis like to presently pick on

I am sitting here trying to figure out how people can think Kalish's work is inferior to Doug's. I would sit through NS & DT with blank stares on my face wondering wtf PR was turned into.

I felt like I was 6 years old while watching it. Atleast with PRiS-PRWF it had mature themes a teenager could appreciate. Same goes for the MMPR-PRT era which wasn't as mature, dramatic, or epic as PRiS-PRWF but still 100x better than the kiddie NS & DT.

During the NS & DT era PR was never that stupid. Stupid is the really the only word I can come up with when describing both seasons because they literally were.

I haven't kissed Kalish's ass at all about S.P.D. I was just happy it was better than the previous 2 seasons. Hell, S.P.D. ain't even on my favourites list. But I will defend Kalish's work over Sloan in a heartbeat.

If any writers deserve ass kissing it's the ones who came up with awesome storylines like Mikoto/Dezumozorya and the Gouraijer sagas because that was legitimatley AWESOME but that's drifting into "different" water.

Funny, it only took me a few months between DT and S.P.D. to realise that.
