A Few Strange But Common Japanese Action Habits

Their cries are loud and echo as well, giving them a rather supernatural feel IMO. I love them.

Glam felt that Mole's cry in Amazon was very endearing (poor Mole...). He mostly used it once when he showed up and once at the end of his sentence as he was leaving. More like bookends than a constant thing.

NeonZ's explanation feels the most plausible. It started out reasonable then escalated when it became a "thing" until it was ubiquitous. Doesn't stop it being bloody annoying sometimes.

But since it seems nobody else wants to suggest a weird trope, how about the way dozens of people die in horrible circumstances (I.E. Tokyo's underground being flooded with water...or lava) but the police are never called and everybody walks off into the sunset as the city burns at their backs off-camera like everything is okay b/c the enemy was defeated? That happens a lot.

I think the original KR might have had an explanation for that. Something about how those guys can't actually talk. Or maybe I'm misremembering something.

I still love this one bit in the 2nd half of Amazon when Tachibana comments to this one mook about the "Mt. Fuji - Tokyo Fry Pan Operation" and the guy replies with "Yeah, that was phase 1. You're here to help us with phase two!"

Ooookay. That'll be the last time you just reply to something I've said with a simple derogatory statement that contributes nothing to the conversation. Troll attempt averted.

You will never be as entertaining as Hidden, but your trolling is interesting at times.

1. Even during the time I lived in Japan, I never understood why thugs, gangsters and other "normal" bad guys in Tokusatsu have to speak with strong and rough kansai dialects.
I have seen many gangs hanging out in Tokyo, and none of them spoke like that. They were not that formal, but their speech was normal.
I know some of you guys here have been in Japan too. Was it just me who never heard anyone speak like that?

2. People falling over when being scared. I know it is supposed to show how the fear takes over, but it is something I can never take seriously in japanese media.
If you see a monster, ghost, or another thing that wants to kill you, then you RUN. You don't sit down on your butt and start crawling away! :redface2:

Many people lose the strength in their legs when they're scared. It's not like everyone does it. In Ultra Series, there usually is one guy who does it in a crowd of 30 or so.

The one I never got was why being punched in the stomach is apparently a guaranteed instant KO?

It reminds me of 90s action movies with the main character knocking out bad guys left and right with single punches. That's until he got to the upper-level bad guys.

I don't know.
