4Kids Loses Pokemon

Pokemon USA takes Over Licensing, 4Kids not Involved in Next Series

As of January 1st, Pokemon USA will take over all aspects of Pokemon licensing from 4Kids. Since Pokemon USA was founded in 2001 licensing responsibilities were split between the two companies, but now all licensing will be handled by Pokemon USA.

In addition, ANN has learned that 4Kids will not be producing or distributing the English language version of the next Pokemon TV series to be released in North America, Battle Frontier.

No one from Pokemon USA was available to confirm how (or when) the next series will be produced and distributed.

And yet, they still own GX. And they get to gut One Piece and Shaman King. They lose Pokemon? Who cares--that show sucked anyway. I'd rather they keep their juggernaut of ratings and lose the aforementioned shows, so better companies could dub and release them on DVD. Then I'D be happy. (And I'm sure a lot of other people would be too.)

Meh, I actually like Pokemon. Can't say the same for One Piece.

Either way, with Yugioh ending soon enough, all they have to keep them going is GX. One Piece is bombing badly on 4Kids TV, one of the shows airing on NBC's saturday morning lineup has higher ratings than it.

So....no more Veronica Taylor since 4Kids will not be producing Pokemon?

You know, as bad as she is on everything else 4Kids related, I can' picture Ash without her....perhaps no 4Kids means the series finally gets lesser editing, especially if its' for a potential final chapter like Battle Frontier, something tells me Ash REALLY needs to depart next season, May taking over, not that I like her, but Ashs' story has been unofficially closed for years

Who cares? Tell me when Yu-Gi-Oh or GX gets removed from 4Kids' evil grasp, then I'll be good.

Well...it's nipping on the heels of the Dragon Ball Trilogy and Detective Boy Conan...so who knows.
