2008's standalone toku series?

Will there be one? The past few years there's always been a tokusatsu or tokusatsu-esque series in addition to the big three; we've had some really good ones, like Garo, Sh15uya and Cutie Honey The Live, and some... Mixed opinion ones, like the Sazer series and Ryukendo. Any news on something for this year?

Since 2007 was such a strong year with three great series (and I guess a lot of people like UltraSeven too so maybe four), it's going to be tough for 2008 to follow, with a lot of negative reception on Go-onger before it's started; Cutie Honey ending in a couple of months; and some bad judgements on Kiva (although personally I love it and can't wait for more). What do you think?

Since you dont consider Ultraman part of the big 3(which i think is ridiculous btw), what do you think is the 3rd part of the big 3.

I thought Den-O was damn near unwatchable, but the forum reaction I've seen is undeniable as well as all the love I've seen elsewhere.

Den-O still rocked for a lot of people

I've been wondering this too, tho.

The stand alone series, that we should give a special name to, have been some of my all time favorite series.

Is there going to be another series like GARO or Cutey Honey?

What's Japanese for, "Stand Alone"? :169:

I loved Den-O. *still hasn't finished it though XD*

Someone needs to get these people to come out with a second season to Garo. But only if they use the same people & don't make the story into something stupid. Which then again, they're not American, so we shouldn't have to worry.

Wait ...

What are you people considering "the big three?"

Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai.

Because that's pretty much it. Was there some new show for 2007 that I completely missed? Did it only air in the bizarro universe? Did the Ryoutarou go back in time and change history so that there is now another henshin-hero series that's been running since the '60's/'70's?

As for a new stand alone show. Like I already pointed out

The Big Three are Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and Ultraman.

This Rescue Squad looks interesting, but I was thinking something more adult like GARO and Cutey Honey.
