Are you itching for a chance to play some old arcade classics? Than Limited Run has you covered with the Capcom Arcade Stadium Volume 1 releasing on console! Capcom is well known for its vast library of games throughout multiple video game generations. Whether it is with the NES or the Playstation 5, you can always find Capcom games leaving their mark on video game history. However, while Capcom’s name makes one think of its console releases nowadays, some of its greatest titles sit within arcades. Cabinets held incredible games that emblazoned the name of Capcom on their sides like a badge of honor. Names like Street Fighter 2 and Final Fight defined their genres, leaving an incredible impact on the greater industry. With this in mind, Limited Run Games’ mission is bringing these games back into the modern world through this collection. Capcom arcade games finally on modern consoles feels amazing. I grew up playing Street Fighter II and Ghosts ‘N Goblins at the local arcade, and it’s honestly wild that I can now play them on my Switch. The digital arcade feature looks really neat too, being able to walk around and pick games just like the old days. I also like that they added save, load, and rewind options. I always hated starting over from the very beginning when I lost all my lives. It makes these classics more approachable for someone like me who doesn’t have the reflexes I had when I was younger. The variety here is impressive, too, from shooters to fighters. I think this collection will not only appeal to longtime fans but also younger players who never experienced the arcade era. I’m definitely pre-ordering the physical version just for the covers.

I’m mostly in it for the fighting games. Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Street Fighter II Turbo—having all of these together is fantastic. I never had the chance to play all the versions before, so this feels like the ultimate package for me. I appreciate that the collection also has accessibility features, like adjusting speed and saving progress. It makes it easier to practice combos without dying repeatedly. The other arcade games are a bonus, though I might try a few shooters and platformers just out of curiosity. The physical edition with the booklet seems worth it too. I like owning something tangible rather than just downloading a game. This might actually get me to spend more time in front of the console than usual.
