Limited Run In Hot Water For Selling Games On Burned CDs

Limited Run Games, the publisher that popularized the limited physical game market, takes a lot of heat on social media these days, but it’s for reasons that are, in reality, not that big a deal. The most common complaints I hear are…. THE GAMES TAKE TOO LONG TO SHIP TO YOU! There’s a valid reason for this. Limited Run only orders the games to be printed AFTER all the sales have been made. Typically a big publisher will print their games months in advance to allow for pressing time and any delays, then offer it for sale. LR only orders as much as people demand to cut down on cost and make these physicals possible. There are a lot of ignorant people who don’t read the fine print and think this works like any other shop. It doesn’t. Recently, LR has started posting estimates for ship dates on their website order forms. I HEARD THEY FIRED SOMEONE FOR A TWEET! The fact that anyone who says this is never specific

Look, I get the frustration with Limited Run. Waiting for months is annoying, but anyone who buys from them knows the deal. They're not a regular store; they print what people buy. This "D" fiasco, though? That's a whole different story. Burned CDs for a $60 game? That's just insulting. They should have known better, especially for such an old system. This is a massive black eye, and they deserve the criticism.

This whole situation with Limited Run is just... ugh. I get the whole "limited print" thing, but waiting months is one thing, selling burned CDs for $60 is a whole new level of disrespect. It's like they took our love for retro games and spat in our faces. This isn't just an inconvenience, it's a slap in the face to their entire customer base.

While the burned CD fiasco is undeniably bad, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Limited Run has done a lot to keep retro games alive. I still appreciate their efforts, but this "D" situation is a massive PR disaster. They need to regain our trust, and that won't be easy.

Look, I understand the frustration, but the whole "burned CD" thing isn't necessarily the worst part. It's the lack of transparency and research. They should have known better, especially for such a finicky system like the 3DO. It's a shame, because Limited Run has some great releases. Hopefully, they learn from this colossal blunder.

Limited Run? More like Limited Trust, am I right? This whole thing just proves they're all about the money. They knew what they were doing with those CDs, and they gambled that people wouldn't notice. This is a betrayal of everything they supposedly stand for.
