★ULTRA-ACT - News and Reviews

Just got my Tiga figure in the mail today, and this might be the most disappointed I have ever been with a figure in my life. The sculpt is not even REMOTELY like the prototype one, things aren't aligned with each other, the proportions are all off (especially with the silver and gold chest lines, they're right up against the neck of the figure instead of near the shoulders, and it really throws the whole look of the figure off) they also changed the look of the bubble shield thing to be a thin sheet of plastic, where it looked like the prototype had depth.

I'm gonna post pictures tomorrow, but I've been wanting a good Tiga figure since I saw the first episode in 1997 at 7 years old so this thing sucking (especially after having the prototype sculpt looking AWESOME) is really really depressing.....

Ah man!:disappoin Thats not what I wanted to hear. My amiami package came today but I have to wait until monday to pick up my Tiga. I was excited but now that I've read your post Im not looking forward to monday.

Is he really that bad though? Maybe he'll grow on you. Im trying to be as optimistic as possible. I knew the eyes were a problem but I didnt know he was that bad. But I guess I'll see for myself.

I wonder what Hiroshi Nagano/Daigo thinks about the figure.

Well, I think the figure is bad all on its own. What really makes it exceptionally terrible is how much it differs from the original (and in my opinion, completely amazing) original sculpt. The figure that was promised looks something like this.

The colors are spot on, as are proportions and well, everything else. I just looked at the picture again and it hurt.

This is the figure I got in the mail Yesterday....

The proportions are off, the gold and silver of the chest piece are not even one bit vibrant of appealing, same with the color timer, none of the lines match up from piece to piece and even the colors are a bit off, Tiga also looks like a stick, any sense of bulk (and there was a little) from the prototype is gone. Notice with the prototype picture the chest piece in particular, notice how its closer to the shoulders, and also look at the way the chest piece is cut in relation to the prototype, the prototype has a very nice, clean break that adds definition to the area, which the real figure completely gets rid of. This is a close up of the figures chest area.

The chese piece is not even on the sculpt, its an add on part that was probably glued on! It completely kills the figure in my opinion, makes it look like a knockoff really. Also notice the silver shoulder pieces aren't part of the arm anymore, but their own seperate piece. This picture also highlights more of the paint not matching up in the slightest. Thats the figures default position, yet none of the lines match up, and no matter how you twist they don't. Another thing thats disappointing is the painted on forehead crystal. Its really like they did everything possible to make the figure look bad, and I have no idea why....

I know my pictures are of lesser quality, and all the touching up they do to promo shots but this has almost nothing to do with that. The two figures are fundamentally different, and I'd really like to know what went through there heads to make them choose to skip producing the figure they had and go with this one.

Adding insult to injury, half of the pictures used on the box are of THE PROTOTYPE, including one with the bubble shield that got transformed from something awesome looking into a plastic sheet (its still kind of cool, just not with something way cooler staring you straight on from the back of the figures packaging.)

Lastly, heres a picture of Sky Type Tiga (the prototype of course)

This figure looks completely amazing once again (even better than multi type for some reason to me) but, assuming they use the same sculpt for it (and theres no reason to believe they won't) its gonna turn into a waste. My only hope is that they decide to do a different one for Evil Tiga, but even thats not looking too good at the moment.

I know this post is a bit long, but along with giving out my thoughts it was also a nice vent for myself because, as I said before, this figure was a really big deal to me and it ended up being crappy. (also, if you want any more picture comparisons I can put them up, I just didn't wanna make this post too long)

It looks like there is depth where the colors change in the Multi Type and Sky type lacks red in the design or a color to take its place for that matter, so it wouldn't be the same exact sculpt. I hope it's fixed or redone because... wow, they really messed up Tiga.

^ The top part of the arm looks shorter. That may be the cause. It's either that, or it got sucked into the chest section.

The blue part that should be in the midsection looks like it has the same problem.

the shoulders are kinda narrow compared to the prototype pics...

Yeah, kinda narrow is a huge understatement.....I really really hope that they do end up somehow using a different sculpt for the other two forms. It won't help with multi type but at least the other two forms would be alright. Then they can release an updated multi type later (not that they would, but I'm really grasping here...I want that prototype figure look so bad!)

Well since you said the chest piece looks like its glued on is it possible to take it off? If so maybe you can take it off and reposition it to look like the prototype.:hmm:

nah the problem is that the shoulder area is way too narrow to begin with, its just wide enough to accommodate it and nothing more. Also, it isn't glued on, it just looks like it is (at least I'm 90% sure its not glued on, it looks like the piece is attached at one point and I don't wanna take it apart to find out because I plan on selling it if Sky Type keeps the same sculpt)
