It's great to see more shonen series incorporating themes of romance and family. This blend can make the characters more relatable and deepen the storylines. I'm looking forward to seeing how MarriageToxin develops in its second season!

I started watching this because I wanted an action anime, but I stayed because Hikaru and Mei are fun together. The story has a weird idea, but somehow it works. Hikaru being so good at fighting but so bad at dating makes a lot of scenes funny without trying too hard. I also like that the romance is not the only focus. There are still fights and interesting characters. I'm happy Season 2 is already happening because the first season ended with a lot more story to tell. I also want to see the new characters the creators keep talking about. Hopefully the animation stays just as good.

Usually one part becomes much stronger than the others, but this one kept everything moving without feeling messy. Hikaru is also different from a lot of shonen leads because he isn't loud or overconfident. He has real problems outside of fighting, and that makes him easier to care about. The announcement was pretty quick too, which probably says a lot about how well the first season performed. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where the story goes next.

I think the biggest reason this series works is because the characters carry it. The story sounds ridiculous if you explain it to someone in one sentence, but once you actually watch it, everyone has their own personality. Hikaru slowly becoming more comfortable around people was one of my favorite parts. It didn't happen overnight, which made it feel more believable. I also appreciate that the comedy doesn't completely stop the serious moments from having weight. I'm curious if Season 2 will adapt some of the manga chapters that fans keep talking about because I've heard they get even better.

I'm just happy they didn't make us wait years for a renewal. So many anime end with people wondering if they'll ever continue. At least this one already has another season coming. Hopefully the staff stays mostly the same because they did a solid job.
