Now they’re bringing us an enhanced version of their cocktail collection in Düngeonmeister: A Drink Master’s Guide: The Expanded Edition. I actually bought the original Düngeonmeister book when it came out. My friends and I used it during our Dungeons & Dragons sessions, and it brought many laughs. Some recipes were simple, others required more effort, but it was always fun. What I am curious about now is how many new drinks they added in this edition. If it is just a handful, I might wait. But if the new content is big enough, I am willing to upgrade.

From a cooking perspective, I think this edition is interesting. Many cocktail books exist already, but few give mocktail alternatives with the same attention. It means this book can work even for someone who does not know role-playing games but just wants fun recipes with unique names. It can serve two audiences at once. That is smart design.

It sounds like a fun concept. For people who enjoy both TTRPGs and mixing drinks, it's a perfect combination. The press release makes it sound very accessible, promising step-by-step drink instructions that make crafting cocktails easy, which is important. Not everyone is an expert mixologist. I collect tabletop-related books, even ones I do not use much. For me, Düngeonmeister editions are part of that hobby. They are not just guides, they are part of the history of how gaming culture expanded into lifestyle products. This is why I will buy the expanded edition, to keep my set complete.
