Fnatic.LoL DQ’d in ESL Qualifiers
The first night of ESL qualifiers has been completed and one of the favorites Fnatic.MSI has been sent packing. The team was disqualified on a technicality for using 3 German players in the EU qualifier.
Fnatic.MSI was playing with a replacement on their roster for the usual player Enrique Javier ‘xPeke’ Cedeño Martinez. If xPeke had been playing the team would be classified as an EU team. For whatever reason they were using the sub Fnatic.MSI Fingers who is a German player. This classified them as a German team which requires them to compete in the German qualifiers.
Comment by the ESL:
“Germany has an own qualifier. Fnatic MSI played with 3 players from Germany, which is counted as German line-up. Fnatic MSI is disqualified.”
Response from Harry ‘hxd’ Wiggett, Fnatic.LoL Manager
“After winning the semi-final, we were then disqualified from the game before for using 3 German players as Peke couldn’t make it. So we used FnaticMSI Fingers as our 5th and admin decided to disqualify us after the game, while we were in the following game. Very disappointing to see such actions from ESL and we hope to come to a solution ASAP, since our time was severely wasted.”
