For those who don’t know, The CW‘s iZombie deals with Liv Moore, a Seattle resident who is bitten by a zombie one fateful evening and becomes one herself. To deal with the constant craving for brains, she works at a morgue, where the grey matter is free. The only problem is with every brain she eats, she absorbs the memories and even the personality of the person who once owned it. While this helps her solve the crimes her cop friend is investigating, it can often have embarrassing side effects.
That was the premise for three seasons….but now, everything has been upended.
The existence of zombies has been discovered, provoking the government to wall Seattle off from the rest of the world. Liv can no longer pretend to be “psychic” to solve crimes — everyone will know it’s the brains she’s eating. With the discovery comes the usual avalanche of prejudice and bigotry anyone in a story like this has to suffer.
Then there’s the big cliffhanger Season 3 ended with….Ravi believed he’d developed a cure for zombieism, and used his own self as a test subject. Will the cure work, or has he joined the undead? The brief clip of him chomping on a brain in the released trailer below would suggest it didn’t work, but we can’t say for sure.
We’re not sure what to expect this season from what was once a formulaic series. But that’s a good thing. iZombie returns to The CW February 26!
