Earthlock: Festival of Magic was originally slated for released later this year for PS4, Xbox One and PC as a collaboration between Snowcastle Games and SOEDESCO Publishing. However, the game now seems to have gotten a new release date, with the developers announced that it will get a retail release sometime in early 2017. However, to coincide with the announcement, Snowcastle Games have released a new trailer for the RPG, which you can see below.
Earthlock: Festival of Magic is inspired by early 3D RPG’s and Snowcastle Games brings back many familiar features in a refreshing and rejuvenating new form, shown off in a beautiful handdrawn artstyle. Snowcastle Games and SOEDESCO Publishing are collaborating on bringing their modern turn-based RPG to both PC and consoles.
Describing the game, the developer has said:
“Desert scavenger Amon finds himself in the adventure of his life when he crosses paths with a most peculiar creature back home in Zaber. Join Amon and other remarkable heroes in this turn-based fantasy RPG, on an unforgettable journey across the world of Umbra; a mysterious, beautiful but harsh planet that stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago.
“With a unique set of customizable characters, all with their own personalities and journeys of self-discovery, you will scavenge, explore and fight your way from the everlasting day-side and into the darkness of perpetual night. To save Umbra you must unlock its secrets, expose the shadows, and defeat a growing evil beyond your wildest imagination.”
The RPG is set to have a number of features, including:
- Explore the magical world of Umbra
- Fast and deep turn‐based battles
- Harvest magical materials and craft items on your home island
- Thorough character customization
- A set of unlikely and unique heroes, each with their own unique fighting style
- Talent Table: combining a classic ‘skilltree’ and equipment to customise your character’s progression
Although he didn’t mention the unexpected change in release date for Earthlock: Festival of Magic, Bendik Stang, Lead Developer and CEO of Snowcastle Games, spoke about the upcoming release, saying:
“We are delighted to have SOEDESCO bring a physical version of Earthlock to our fans and can’t wait for them to get their hands on the beautiful boxed version of our game.”
