Demon Slayer Video Game Confirmed For Western Localization
The feature film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train made a mint in the US, and under pandemic conditions. That means Demon Slayer is an undeniable hit, and we should be getting more products based around the series localized here. The newest Demon Slayer game, which is called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles overseas, has been confirmed by Sega to be getting a release in Western countries. We assume the title will be shortened to Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles when it shows up here.
The game is being developed by CyberConnect2, who has handled other anime properties in the recent past like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja titles. Like those games, Hinokami Chronicles will adapt certain arcs from the manga and anime for its storyline: in this case, the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc and Mugen Train Arc (yes, the movie storyline is part of it). Both Japanese and English voice tracks will be included in our version, and the English version will be dubbed by the US cast.
It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human and kill the demon that massacred his family.
Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles is coming October 15 to Playstation 4, Playstation 5, XBox One, XBox Series X and PC.
