Cristiano Ronaldo Joins Fatal Fury City of the WolvesAnd Hes Beating Up People With a Ball

Cristiano Ronaldo Joins Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves—And He’s Beating Up People With a Ball!

Cristiano Ronaldo has conquered football, dabbled in acting (kind of), and now, apparently, he’s decided to kick people in the face, with a ball. The global football superstar is making his way into Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, joining the likes of Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun-Li. While those two are actual martial artists, Ronaldo… well, he’s really good at kicking. So, naturally, SNK thought, “You know what this fighting game needs? A man with a glowing football.

When Ronaldo first teased his inclusion on Twitter, the clip showed him surrounded by only male fighters from Fatal Fury. Coincidence? Probably not. It looks like SNK is playing it safe because, let’s be real, nobody wants to see an international sports icon roundhouse-kicking Mai Shiranui in the face. But let’s not kid ourselves; once the game launches, he’ll be nutmegging B. Jenet into oblivion like everyone else.

Then came the official gameplay trailer, and boy, does it deliver. If you were expecting a grounded, Rival Schools-style footballer, too bad– Cristiano Ronaldo fights like Amakusa from Samurai Shodown or Menat from Street Fighter, except instead of floating a magic orb around, he’s using his feet to hurl an energy-infused football at people’s heads.

At this point, we’ve seen plenty of weird fighting game guest characters, Freddy Krueger, Negan, even Noctis in Tekken– but a football player? We’re dangerously close to Shaq Fu territory here. The difference? SNK actually knows how to make a good fighting game.

So… How Does Cristiano Ronaldo Fight?

You might be wondering, “Does he actually punch people?” Nope. Instead, Ronaldo does what he does best, kick things really, really hard. Except this time, instead of scoring goals, he’s breaking bones.

Here’s what he’s bringing to the fight:

  • Superpowered Football Kicks – Imagine getting hit by a glowing blue football moving at the speed of regret. That’s what his special attacks feel like.

  • Acrobatic Dodging – Years of dodging defenders on the pitch have paid off, he sidesteps, spins, and evades like he’s trying to get past five defenders at once.

  • GOAT Mode (Yes, Seriously.) – He literally summons a golden goat, charges up, and unleashes the mother of all power shots. Because why not?

  • Siuuu Taunt – If you thought getting beaten up by him was bad, imagine him doing his signature “SIIUUU” celebration mid-fight. Yep, that’s a thing.

Twitter Announcement

His Look: Way Better Than That Botched Statue

SNK didn’t just drop a copy-paste version of Ronaldo into the game, they went full CGI anime mode. And honestly? It looks better than some of his real-life statues.

Remember that infamous bronze disaster at Madeira Airport that looked like a cursed wax figure? Yeah, this is a massive upgrade. His facial features are stylized just enough to fit into Fatal Fury’s world, while still being recognizably CR7. If nothing else, at least his CGI version won’t haunt your dreams.

SNK Dodged the Celebrity Voice Acting Curse

Remember when Mortal Kombat 11 let Dimitri Vegas voice Sub-Zero, making him sound like he was reading a grocery list? Or when Mortal Kombat 1 gave us Megan Fox as Nitara, proving that even vampires can sound bored out of their minds? Yeah, SNK wasn’t about to let that disaster happen here.

Instead of making Cristiano Ronaldo voice himself (which could’ve been hilarious for all the wrong reasons), they got Juan Felipe Sierra for English and Masaaki Mizunaka for Japanese. So, no monotone line deliveries, no awkwardly read scripts, just proper voice acting like a fighting game should have.

Love It or Hate It, He’s Here

Ronaldo in a fighting game is either the most brilliant or the most ridiculous thing SNK has ever done– possibly both at the same time. Whether he turns out OP, meme-tier, or just plain weird, one thing’s for sure: you’re either dodging footballs or kicking them at people.

And hey, if you hate this addition, just make him your punching bag. If you love it, SIIUUU your way to victory. Either way, he’s in the game, and we all just have to deal with it.

Guest characters are fine when they make sense, but a football player in Fatal Fury? This is starting to feel like a joke. I get that Ronaldo is a world-famous athlete, but what does he bring to a fighting game besides brand recognition? His move set sounds like a gimmick—floating a football around like Menat’s orb? That doesn’t fit the style of Fatal Fury at all. At least with Negan in Tekken, he had a weapon that worked within the system. If Ronaldo is broken, he’ll ruin balance, and if he’s weak, no one will use him. Either way, this seems like a stunt to grab headlines rather than a genuine addition to the roster.

Wait… this isn’t an April Fools' joke? I seriously thought SNK was trolling us. A footballer—of all people—in Fatal Fury? When I first saw the announcement, I was convinced it was one of those fake leaks people make for fun. But no, it’s real. Ronaldo is actually in the game, kicking energy-infused footballs at people like he’s some kind of anime supervillain.

I’m still trying to process this. I mean, we’ve had weird guest characters before—Negan in Tekken, Noctis, even Freddy Krueger—but this feels like something straight out of a joke post. I half expected the trailer to end with “April Fools!” and then cut to a real character reveal. But nope, he’s in, with a golden goat super and a taunt that makes you relive every CR7 celebration ever.

I don’t even know if I’m mad or impressed. SNK really went all in on this, and I guess at this point, we just have to accept it. Maybe next year, we’ll get Messi in Tekken or LeBron James in Mortal Kombat. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Well, Ariana Grande is in Fortnite, so at this point, anything is possible. If a pop star can run around with a shotgun in a battle royale, why can’t Ronaldo kick people in the face with a magic football? Games stopped caring about realism a long time ago—it's all about what gets people talking. SNK knows exactly what they’re doing by adding him, and honestly, I respect the chaos.

This is the kind of nonsense I live for. Ronaldo in a fighting game? Incredible. A golden GOAT mode? Even better. I don’t care if he’s balanced, I don’t care if he makes sense—I just want to see him kicking people across the screen while screaming “SIIUUU.” This has meme potential for years, and I’m here for it. Imagine an esports commentator saying, “Ronaldo with the overhead crosskick into the GOAT super!” We’ve officially reached peak gaming, and I love it.

Alright, if Ronaldo can make it into Fatal Fury, then I demand Martha Stewart in Mortal Kombat. Give her a fatality where she bakes her opponent into a pie or decorates their severed head with elegant floral arrangements. At this point, nothing is off-limits. Fighting games have officially entered the “why not?” era, and I’m fully embracing it.

At this point, gaming is just a free-for-all. We’ve got John Wick in Call of Duty, Batman fighting Shaggy in Multiversus, and Naomi Osaka in Fortnite. Why wouldn’t Ronaldo be in a fighting game? If anything, I’m surprised it took this long. The idea of a footballer beating up martial artists is ridiculous, but that’s what makes it fun. People need to stop expecting fighting games to make sense—just enjoy the madness.

I love when games do wild crossovers like this! Sure, it’s a bit strange, but why not? If we can have Negan in Tekken and John Cena in Fortnite, why not Ronaldo in Fatal Fury? It’s fun seeing famous figures thrown into unexpected settings. I hope SNK went all out with the animations and made his moves feel unique. Now I just need Kenny Omega in Street Fighter, and my dream fighting game lineup will be complete.

This is a dream come true! CR7 is more than a soccer player—he’s an icon, a legend. Seeing him as a full-fledged fighter, not just a skin, shows how big his impact is. I hope SNK made him as strong in the game as he is on the field. Imagine winning a tournament using Ronaldo—what a statement that would be! I’m buying the game just for this.

I don’t get why people are so upset about this. If you don’t like Ronaldo being in the game, just ignore him. It’s not like you’re being forced to play as him. And if you really don’t want to see him, just use him as a training mode dummy and beat him up all day. Problem solved.

At the end of the day, guest characters are just part of modern fighting games. Some people will love them, some won’t. But getting mad about it isn’t going to change anything. SNK added him because they know he’ll bring in new players, and honestly, that’s a good thing for the game. More players mean more attention, more updates, and a bigger community. If Ronaldo gets people to try Fatal Fury for the first time, that’s a win for everyone.

So yeah, if you like him, play him. If you don’t, just use him for combo practice and move on.
