Coming From Mythroll Armory: Magnetiles
The quality of customized maps in tabletop RPGs depends on how much time the creator has to spend on them. But imagine magnetized fit-together tiles that let you whip up an entire 3-D village map in just a minute or so. That would be pretty nifty, eh? It’s about to become a thing….and who do you think is behind it, if you had to guess? Yup, our pals at Mythroll Armory.
In the past year alone Mythroll has created foldable tin D20 dice that fit in a wallet, customizable “Doodle Dice” that you can write on (with ink that can be removed) and a “Dice Spinner” meant to serve the functions of multiple variants of tabletop dice in one. Having exhausted everything they can do with dice, they’re turning their attention to what the dice typically sit on.
Magnetiles stack together into neat piles when not in use. Then they can be pulled apart and placed as the DM desires…pieces for cobblestone roads, wood, dirt, grassy areas, rivers, lakes, even bridges across those rivers and lakes. Interested?
Well, they’re not ready for sale just yet. Magnetiles were announced just today by Mythroll and the crowdfunding campaign that will sell them to you hasn’t begun yet. Follow the Kickstarter page to be notified when they become available.
