Chris Evans Talks Leaving Captain America Behind
Although Marvel is heading towards another big movie success with Avengers Infinity War, the countdown has also begun for a major departure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mainly, Chris Evans will be leaving the role of Captain America. Once Avengers 4 airs, he will be done with the role. Evans has been a major part of the MCU, and many have dubbed his portrayal as Captain America to be truly like the comic book character he represents.
But, there’s no doubt going to be feelings for the character he’s leaving behind right? So, what will Captain America miss about not being…well…Captain America?
“Oh, everything,” Evans told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, it’s not just the character, it’s the people – the experience, such good movies, such wonderful memories. I’ll miss a lot.”
When he announced his “retirement” from the role, he noted that it was better to get off the train before being “pushed off”, likely knowing that it’s better to leave on your own terms than being forced out.
With Infinity War and Avengers 4 looming, many feel that Chris Evans will just be the first of many departures within the universe. Some think that Robert Downey Journey Jr. will also leave, among others. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.
