The word chateau is French for “house.” Given that, we can be certain the new horror film from Quiver Distribution is some kind of haunted house movie. The only question is…what kind?
James (female) is a social media influencer always looking for the perfect stunt to amass the masses. So when she’s bopping around France and hears about an opening to clean a chateau the locals claim is HAUNTED, well…she’d be nuts NOT to apply for the position. Bringing her cameras and a friend to hold said cameras, James begins to document her adventure cleaning the spooky old mansion. It doesn’t take her long to encounter real ghosts…ghosts that seem to crave attention too.
The trailer and screenshots seem to point to Chateau being a found footage movie; all shots are coming from James’s phone, GoPro and other cheap devices. It hasn’t been confirmed at this time, though.
Chateau is a small indie production that stars just two actors: Cathy Marks and Colton Tran. Luke Genton wrote and directed the film. You’ll be able to visit Chateau starting December 6 on digital platforms.
