Blood Curse: A Tribute To Castlevania 3
Whether you’ve played Castlevania 3 or not, it continues to be one of the most influential and iconic installments in the series. Subtitled Dracula’s Curse, it firmly established the lore by revealing the origin of the Belmont family’s crusade against Dracula, and it introduced important characters like Alucard for the first time. It was Castlevania 3 that Netflix adapted into a four-season anime.
Castlevania 3 was also very advanced for the NES, using special chips to enhance the graphics and sound. The USA got the graphics chip, but the enhanced sound chip was left out to save on cost. Sindravania Projects feels they can do better anyway. Their new arrangement album, Blood Curse, is one giant tribute to the third Castlevania game (as well as the third album Sindravania has put out themselves).
Blood Curse features the work of over two dozen various musicians and composers from the video game music scene, including Grant “Stemage” Henry (Metroid Metal, Steven Universe,) Alexander Brandon (Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex), Dan “Danimal Cannon” Behrens (Retromania Wrestling), Youtube artist RichaadEB, and many others. The album does not stick to one genre, containing tracks in the styles of metal, rock, funk and more. 21 tracks are included in all.
