Better Nate than Ever is based on an Award-Winning novel of the same title. The Novel was written by Tim Federle, the mind behind High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Better Nate than ever will be one of the rare LGBT family-friendly films. Most LGBTQ films focus too much on the more adult themes and romance. There are so many LGBTQ people’s stories about their sexuality and identity. They are people with hopes, dreams, and ambitions that they want to come true. We have thousands of films about straight kids with adventures, and being straight is not the focus of the story, and they are the norm. So it’s a nice change to see an LGBTQ film that is not about their sexuality.
In this movie, Nate is just a character who happens to be Gay, and the focus of his story is his agency for pursuing his dreams. Better Nate than Ever is coming to Disney Plus this coming spring.
