343 Industries Admits Mistake In Regards To Master Chief Collection
Halo is one of the biggest franchises in today’s gaming world. So when 343 Industries announced they were putting the four main Halo games into one collection, while updating the graphics, multiplayer maps, and more, fans were excited. Then the game came out, and fans were ticked off. The games were buggy, there were crashes, content wasn’t working, and it needed numerous patches. “How could this have happened” many a gamer wondered. Well a simple answer is that there was no beta for the Master Chief Collection. They just put it out there. Now though? They’re not going to risk this happening again.
“There is so much we learned with the Halo 5 beta. There is actually stuff we took from our Master Chief Collection — learnings that we were able to put into the [Halo 5: Guardians] beta,” studio head Bonnie Ross told Game Informer.
She went on to apologize to the fans for the mistakes in the Master Chief Collection. “Going forward, you will never see a Halo game coming out without a beta. [Master Chief Collection] was obviously painful for our fans and for us. But it won’t happen again,” Ross added.
So there you go. From now on, players will help ensure all Halo games are ready to go before launch, or at least, one would hope.
