The tale of the 300 Spartans (and their allies) who held the line against the mighty Persian empire is a tale told still to this day. It is a story that has inspired many, and truly helped define the modern world. As such, it’s not a surprise that it was made into a comic book by Frank Miller, and two movies by Zack Snyder. But, what is more interesting is that Snyder has said that there could be another movie in the 300 franchise. One that would follow another group of soldiers in a different time period, but still have the visual style of the original two films. He notes to Collider:
“There may be. There may be. We’ve been talking a lot about sort of different incarnations of 300. We’ve been talking about is there a way, possibly, we move out of Ancient Greece and use it as a framing device for other conflicts that happened throughout history.
I think I mentioned that we talked about the Revolutionary War version, and we talked about the Alamo, and we’ve talked about there’s a battle in China, a “Lost Legion” kind of concept, any of those kinds of things are on the table.”
Whether this actually happens is up for debate, while the first 300 movie did very well at the box office, setting records at the time. The second film, Rise of an Empire, did only decently at the box office. It’ll truly be up to the film studios to see whether this idea comes to life.
