Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Coming Out Two Months Earlier
Delays for video games are so common that when we heard the date had been changed for the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, we figured that meant it’d be coming out much later than its originally announced September date. Imagine our shock to hear it’s actually been moved UP, to July. That’s a thing that can happen?
Not only that, we got a fresh trailer that reveals some new gameplay mechanics. Turns out in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll have the ability to control six characters at once…and not only that, but be able to merge two of them together into a giant called an Ouroboros. They tried their best not to make this sexual in any way, but that won’t stop the immature masses from snickering at lines like “How are you inside me?”
XC3’s plot follows Noah and Mio, two members of rival nations who decide to team up to find the source of the conflict tearing their world apart. The countries don’t like them working together and both declare them wanted criminals, forcing them to go on the run…but they have plenty of friends to run with. Their goal is to make it to a distant land pierced with a giant sword, and learn the truth of what it is and how it got there.
There will be a Special Collector’s Edition Box Thing for XC3, as there was with XC2, but unlike the previous one, this edition will only be available on Nintendo’s website…which basically means it will be impossible to get for the first few months. A Steelbook case and a 250-page hardcover artbook will be included inside. Nintendo probably made this move because the Special Edition for XC2 sat on Target shelves for months.
But you can get the regular edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 anywhere, and it will be out on Nintendo Switch July 29.
