Wonderland Pinball

Wonderland Pinball Game Now On Kickstarter

For those who have ever dreamed of owning their own pinball machine, but were set back by the prices, which are usually $5K to $15K in range…Wonderland Amusements’ new Kickstarter campaign may be for you. The company was founded by some of the folks behind the Arcade1Up line, and they hope to do for pinball what those products did for video arcades — bring them down to a price that the average homeowner can afford for their den.

For their first product, why not stick with their namesake? It’s free, after all. Alice Goes To Wonderland is the name of Wonderland Amusements’ first offering, a fully-featured bells-and-whiatles pinball machine with wifi, a multiball mode and a full-color attract screen which they are selling for just $850. “Alice has fallen into a strange and chaotic Wonderland. Desperate to find her way home, she asks the White Rabbit for help. His answer? She must complete eight tasks to escape!”

Each task is tied to one of the eight symbols on the playfield, but once you complete all eight, that isn’t the end…that’s just Level 1. The full game has three levels (we’re guessing Level 3 just loops, because whoever heard of a pinball game that just ends at some point).

  • Lane 1 – Caterpillar Targets – Hit all three targets to complete this task. Caterpillar symbol lights.
  • Lane 2 – Drink Me – Pass through this lane three times to complete. Bottle symbol lights.
  • Lane 3 – Queen’s Castle – Go through the castle three times to trigger a timed challenge. A fourth shot before time runs out completes the task and scores big. Castle symbol lights.
  • Lane 4 – Door Keys – This lane leads to the mushroom bumpers and hidden key lanes. Collect all three keys to complete. Key symbol lights.
  • Lane 5 – Mushroom Bumpers – Another entrance to the mushroom bumpers for added points.
  • Lane 6 – Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – Loop through the Tea Party nine times to start a timed challenge. Hit the trapped ball under the table before time runs out for major points. Tea symbol lights.
  • Lane 7 – Cheshire Cat Lane – Complete three full loops to finish the task. Cheshire Cat symbol lights. Bonus: Hit a Card Soldier for added points.
  • Lane 8 – Eat Me / White Rabbit – Get through three times to complete. Cookie symbol lights. This lane also features the White Rabbit, hitting the shot so the ball rolls back through the Rabbit Lane twice completes the task. Rabbit symbol lights.

Like we said, securing an Alice Goes To Wonderland pinball machine takes an $849 pledge. There are higher tiers, but they’re for more than one machine. WA blew through their initial goal in just one hour and currently sit at $623,000 and climbing. You have until April 10 to jump down this rabbit hole…

Wow, $850? That's incredible! I've always wanted a pinball machine, but the prices were just insane. Alice Goes To Wonderland sounds like a blast, and knowing it's from the Arcade1Up folks gives me a lot of confidence. I'm definitely backing this Kickstarter. I can already picture it in my game room. The multi-level gameplay sounds like it'll keep me hooked for ages. I’m imagining the satisfaction of nailing those complex lane challenges, especially the timed ones. I’m setting up my pledge right now, I don’t want to miss out on this!

The Wi-Fi and the full-color attract screen are a nice touch. It's great to see pinball machines getting some modern upgrades. I'm especially interested in the software side of things; I wonder if they'll release updates or downloadable content. The level design sounds intricate, and the progression system is intriguing. I’m going to watch some gameplay videos to see how it looks in action. I hope they provide good software support

$850 is a steal! I've been looking at pinball machines for years, and they've always been out of my price range. This Kickstarter is a dream come true. I’m a bit worried about the build quality at that price point, but I’m willing to take the risk. If it delivers on its promises, it'll be a fantastic value. I’m going to check the warranty details

The concept is interesting, and the price is certainly attractive. However, I’m always cautious with Kickstarter projects. I'd like to see more details about the materials and the manufacturing process. The gameplay sounds fun, but I need to see some in-depth reviews before I commit. I’m going to wait and see how the final product turns out. I need proof of quality.

The lane challenges sound amazing. I love the idea of having specific tasks tied to each symbol on the playfield. The multi-ball mode and the timed challenges will definitely keep things exciting. I can already imagine the adrenaline rush of trying to complete those tasks before time runs out. I’m going to see if they released any gameplay footage. I need to see the flow of the game

Alice in Wonderland? That's an inspired choice! The theme alone is enough to pique my interest. I’m a huge fan of the story, and I’m excited to see how they've incorporated it into the pinball design. The playfield art must be amazing. I hope they do the theme justice. I’m imagining the whimsical art style right now.

While the price is tempting, I’m always wary of new companies. I’ll be keeping a close eye on their updates and reviews. I’m not going to rush into anything. I’m going to check the company background. I need to know they can deliver a quality product.
