The mutant who is the best there is at what he does has a new villain to face in his next sequel. Deadline.com reports that the main villain for Wolverine 3 has been cast. Boyd Holbrook (Star of Narcos) has reportedly joined the cast in the upcoming sequel alongside Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. The film is scheduled to go in front of the cameras in May, with production being set up in New Orleans and Mexico.
Boyd Holbrook’s character has not been named, but his character is described as “a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise who is set against Wolverine.” It’s hard to narrow down who this character will be based on that description. It’s not clear what direction the story is going in and if it will follow the Old Man Logan story or not. The film will reportedly receive an R-rating.
It’s nice to see the production moving along for the film. James Mangold returns from The Wolverine to direct the film, which is set to be Hugh Jackman’s final performance as the character. Patrick Stewart also returns as Professor Charles Xavier. Mangold directs from a script written by David James Kelly. Wolverine 3 is due out in theaters on March 3, 2017.
